4 Signs Damian Priest will retain the World Heavyweight Championship at Clash at the Castle

World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest will look to spoil Drew McIntyre's homecoming as he battles The Scottish Warrior in Glasgow, Scotland, at Clash at the Castle.

The Punisher of The Judgment Day ruined McIntyre's WrestleMania XL moment when he successfully cashed in his Money in the Bank contract to win the World Heavyweight Championship. The Scotsman was assaulted by CM Punk at ringside before the cash-in.

The Scottish Terminator has exchanged insults with Punk on social media while repeatedly calling Priest a paper champion. The McIntyre-Priest saga has been brewing for quite some time, and Triple H has carved out a decent build.

Despite McIntyre's home-field advantage, there are four evident signs that Damian Priest will retain the World Heavyweight Championship at Clash at the Castle.

#4 Damian Priest may have gotten under Drew McIntyre's skin

Two weeks ago, on Monday Night RAW, The Archer of Infamy and The Scottish Warrior exchanged words, aiming to humiliate each other. By the end of the promo battle, Priest had the final say.

McIntyre pointed out the power of his home-field advantage, as he believed the crowd would throw Priest off his game. The World Heavyweight Champion had a bold reply as he inquired about the attendance of McIntyre's wife at Clash at the Castle.

The response was strong enough to agitate McIntyre, who threatened to assault Priest. On last week's RAW, The Archer of Infamy sent another strong statement by sending McIntyre through the announce table with a South of Heaven Chokeslam.

#3 WWE is looking to portray Damian Priest as a credible champion

McIntyre believes Damian Priest is a paper champion. Some fans also strongly believe that Priest is a transitional titleholder until a bigger and better star is ready to ascend the throne.

However, Triple H has been very particular about how he has booked the reigning World Heavyweight Champion. While all members of The Judgment Day have struggled to win matches, Priest has maintained an impressive win-loss record.

Furthermore, The Punisher has also assumed the role of The Judgment Day's leader in Rhea Ripley's absence, dealing with issues related to Carlito, LWO, Braun Strowman, and The Awesome Truth.

McIntyre defeated Finn Balor on RAW this past week to bar The Judgment Day from his upcoming match at Clash at the Castle. While this may make the path easier for The Scottish Warrior, it may also allow Priest to secure a clean victory.

#2 Drew McIntyre must be on the look-out for CM Punk

The Scottish Warrior barred The Judgment Day from ringside with a win over Finn Balor, but he seems to have forgotten the potential threat CM Punk poses to his endeavors.

McIntyre put Punk on the shelf at Royal Rumble 2024. For months, he taunted the former AEW star. The Straight Edge Superstar fired back at 'Mania when he assaulted The Scottish Warrior, allowing Damian Priest to cash in the Money in the Bank contract.

The next night on RAW, Punk also cost McIntyre another shot at the World Title. He has vowed to make his rival's life a living hell. If a recent Instagram post is any indication, The Voice of the Voiceless is nearing his in-ring return.

Punk would naturally come after McInytre upon his return, and his revenge tour could continue at Clash at the Castle when he costs The Scottish Terminator the World Heavyweight Title again.

#1 A WWE advertisement may have already spoiled the outcome

Madison Square Garden may be the world's most famous arena, and WWE has a storied history with the venue. But its advertisement may have spoiled the outcome of the World Heavyweight Championship match at Clash at the Castle.

MSG recently advertised Damian Priest vs. Jey Uso for June 28. This is 13 days after Clash at the Castle. Thus, the advertisement may have spoiled Priest vs. McIntyre.

This is possibly the clearest indication that Priest will walk out of Scotland with the World Heavyweight Championship.
