4 signs Dominik Mysterio will betray Rhea Ripley at WWE SummerSlam
WWE SummerSlam is the next premium live event set to be hosted by the sports entertainment juggernaut. The show will be a major one, as it will be held at Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio.
So far, a handful of matches have been confirmed for the show, and several others have been heavily teased. Nia Jax vs. Bayley and Gunther vs. Damian Priest have been confirmed, as has Rhea Ripley vs. Liv Morgan.
Morgan vs. Ripley is a long time in the making, but things have especially heated up between the two this year. Liv injured Rhea and forced Ripley to vacate the Women's World Title, but worse yet, she tried to steal Dominik Mysterio away from Mami.
While it seemed as if Ripley was going to ditch Dominik, that didn't end up being the case on RAW. Instead, she seemingly gave him another chance. Despite that, there is a very real chance that Dirty Dom will betray Rhea come SummerSlam. This article will look at a handful of signs pointing to that specific event.
Below are four signs Dominik Mysterio will betray Rhea Ripley at WWE SummerSlam.
#4. Liv Morgan claimed to have true feelings for Dominik
The biggest sign that Dominik Mysterio will cost Rhea Ripley the win at WWE SummerSlam and side with Liv Morgan is a comment that The Miracle Kid made during Monday Night RAW. During her verbal back and forth with Rhea, Liv made a shocking confession.
Morgan revealed that she initially didn't quite understand what Rhea saw in Dominik and was chasing him purely for the purpose of hurting her. Over time, however, Liv essentially developed feelings for the former North American Champion.
Rhea Ripley has a history of being cold towards Dominik and others. Dom, seeing how Liv treats him and now hearing that she has legitimate feelings for him, may choose to side with her moving forward. If that's the case, he will surely cost Rhea the win at SummerSlam.
#3. The Judgment Day have acted weird regarding The Eradicator
Another sign that points to Dominik Mysterio potentially screwing over Rhea Ripley at WWE SummerSlam is how The Judgment Day has treated Rhea. The issues between herself and the group don't just come down to Dirty Dom and Liv Morgan.
Yes, Dominik has been called out on not keeping in touch with Rhea, but he isn't the only one in the WWE faction to do so. It appears that both JD McDonagh and Finn Balor also neglected Rhea. They've also been spotted interacting with Liv Morgan.
Damian Priest appears to be the only one loyal to Rhea, and many believe he is on his way out of the group, too. As a result, Finn, JD, Dirty Dom, and even Carlito may betray Rhea and Damian to help Liv win. This will lead to Balor, McDonagh, Mysterio, Carlito, and Morgan becoming the group's new version.
#2. Rhea Ripley was acting as if she owned Dominik
As noted, Dominik Mysterio spent a lot of WWE Monday Night RAW pleading with Rhea Ripley in an attempt to win her over. At one point, he even tried to prove himself by standing up to Jey Uso and proclaim Rhea as "his".
Rhea didn't like that very much, but she was seemingly won over in the end. Still, she made the declaration that Rhea isn't his, but instead, Dirty Dom belongs to her. While that points to a reunion for the WWE couple, it may not sit right with Mysterio.
There is a chance that Dominik will be offended by Rhea pushing him away and only choosing to claim him, but not vice versa. This may indicate that he'll be further pushed into the arms of Liv Morgan.
#1. Triple H and WWE like slow-build stories
Some fans may question why Dominik Mysterio would wait to betray Rhea Ripley at WWE SummerSlam, given the issues the pair have already had. If he and Liv are already in cahoots, why wait?
The simple answer to this isn't even an in-story explanation but one based on how WWE is booked. Triple H likes a slow burn and plenty of build. The Bloodline saga, much of The Judgment Day story, the Damage CTRL angle, and beyond are all examples of The Game's approach.
As a result, he won't hotshot Liv and Dirty Dom uniting on RAW a week into Rhea's return. Instead, Triple H will build up to it so it matters more. SummerSlam is the perfect place to do the reveal, as it will also help stretch out the rivalry between The Ripper and The Miracle Kid even further.
