4 signs that Jey Uso will win the 2024 WWE King of the Ring Tournament: Redemption song, crowd control & more

By defeating Ilja Dragunov in the semifinals of the RAW King of the Ring bracket, Jey Uso earned his spot in the brand's finals. The win pits Jey against his recent rival, Gunther, on next week's RAW.

With two more wins, Jey will capture the title of 2024 King of the Ring. It will be his first major accomplishment as a singles star despite winning numerous tag team titles alongside his brother, Jimmy Uso.

Even before the brackets were released, the former Bloodline member was one of the favorites to win the tournament. The next four signs support Jey Uso winning the 2024 King of the Ring tournament.

#4. Singles success outside of the Bloodline

Jey Uso has come a long way from his time in the Bloodline.
Jey Uso has come a long way from his time in the Bloodline.

The main reason for Jimmy Uso resenting his brother was that he didn't want Jey to have any success as a singles star. The twins have been joined together since birth and every success they've had in WWE has been as a team.

When Jimmy was injured, Roman Reigns bestowed the nickname "Main Event" upon Jey Uso. While he has competed for singles titles on RAW, he has yet to earn singles gold.

That could change with a win in the King of the Ring Tournament. It would prove that he can achieve success by himself and that he was able to get over on his own.

#3. Fan reactions across the globe

International crowds are often more raucous than those in the USA due to how seldom the WWE holds events in other countries. Over the last few years, however, the sports entertainment giant has leaned more into the "World" part of the company's name.

From shows in Saudi Arabia to Clash at the Castle, Elimination Chamber, and Money in the Bank, WWE has brought more shows than ever to international venues.

The crowd for Backlash France was among the loudest in history, and Jey Uso arguably received the loudest reception. King of the Ring takes place in Saudi Arabia, and he could be met with another deafening greeting. WWE should take advantage of that potential crowd response.

#2. Jey Uso keeps getting the main event spot on RAW

Outside of Sami Zayn, Jey Uso was the most popular member of the Bloodline. As he broke free of his family and joined RAW, he routinely competed in big matches. He has even competed for titles and against marquee opponents like Gunther.

In plenty of those matches, he occupied the main-event slot on RAW. Stars who routinely get that spot are among the top performers in the company.

Since he's delivered in those main event spots, it may lead to becoming the 2024 King of the Ring. His fans will finally get to celebrate a marquee victory in his singles career.

#1. Redemption for falling short in recent big matches

Beating The Ring General would be cathartic for Jey Uso.
Beating The Ring General would be cathartic for Jey Uso.

While Jey has had a good run as a singles star, he's fallen short in the absolute biggest matches of his singles career.

He challenged both Seth Rollins and Gunther when they were the World Heavyweight and Intercontinental Champions. Jey also recently fell to Damian Priest at Backlash France.

Despite a valiant effort against The Ring General, Jimmy Uso cost Jey in his bid to dethrone Gunther. Jey has a shot at redemption now that he will meet Gunther in the RAW finals of the King of the Ring. Beating The Ring General would be a cathartic win that proves he is truly worthy of being called "Main Event" Jey Uso.
