4 Signs The Rock will return to WWE at SummerSlam 2024 - Bloodline betrayal, rivalry with major star
WWE SummerSlam 2024 will take place this Saturday night in Cleveland, Ohio. The Premium Live Event is shaping up to be an eventful show with several titles on the line. The Bloodline's Solo Sikoa will be challenging Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at The Biggest Party of the Summer.
The Rock has not appeared on WWE television since the RAW following WrestleMania XL. He warned The American Nightmare that he would be coming after him when he makes his return to the company.
Listed below are four signs that The Rock will be returning at WWE SummerSlam next weekend.
#4. The Rock's movie has wrapped filming ahead of WWE SummerSlam
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will be portraying former UFC Heavyweight Tournament winner Mark Kerr in the upcoming film The Smashing Machine. The Great One has reportedly finished his shooting dates for the project and could potentially return in time for SummerSlam.
The Rock could potentially show up during the Undisputed WWE Championship match between Cody Rhodes and Solo Sikoa. The veteran could confront the champion if he defeats Solo Sikoa and begin a rivalry with Rhodes for the title.
#3. The Rock could be the secret leader of the new version of The Bloodline
Solo Sikoa recently took a shot at Roman Reigns on SmackDown and claimed that he was not man enough to successfully defend the title against Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania XL. Sikoa has named himself the new Tribal Chief of The Bloodline and ordered the faction to brutally attack Paul Heyman after the Hall of Famer refused to acknowledge him on the June 28 edition of the blue brand.
The 31-year-old may have developed a massive ego living in Roman Reigns' shadow in The Bloodline and could be making decisions on his own. However, The Rock may be disappointed with Roman Reigns' loss at WrestleMania as well and could secretly be working with Sikoa behind the scenes.
The Final Boss could return at SummerSlam to interfere in the Undisputed WWE Championship match and try to help Sikoa capture the title.
#2. The Rock could be waiting to betray Roman Reigns when he returns
The Rock returned to the promotion earlier this year with the intention of challenging Roman Reigns for the title at WrestleMania XL. However, fans were not having it and started the "#WeWantCody" movement on social media in response. The company changed course due to the negative reaction, and The Great One ended up teaming up with The Head of the Table to defeat Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins in a tag team match in the main event of Night One of The Show of Shows.
The Final Boss pinned Cody Rhodes to end Night One and ensured that interference was allowed during the Undisputed WWE Championship match on Night Two of WrestleMania XL.
However, Roman Reigns came up short, and Cody Rhodes captured the title. The Brahma Bull could be waiting for Reigns to return and may attack him if he makes an appearance at SummerSlam.
#1. The People's Champion may want to finish his story against Cody Rhodes
The rivalry between Cody Rhodes and The Rock seemingly only just got started before the latter went on hiatus from the company. The Great One bizarrely asked to hold the Undisputed WWE Championship on the RAW following 'Mania XL, and Cody Rhodes obliged.
The Bloodline member also made sure to point out that he pinned Rhodes during Night One and stated that their story is just beginning during their confrontation after WrestleMania. He could arrive in the closing moments of SummerSlam to reveal that he will be Cody Rhodes' next challenger for the title.
