4 superstars who should've been booked for WWE Bash in Berlin but are not
WWE Bash in Berlin is less than two weeks away. The historic premium live event will be the first in Germany, and excitement levels are soaring high for the show.
Gunther will defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Randy Orton. Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley will look for a measure of revenge as they take on the treacherous Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan.
On-screen friends, Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens will battle for the prestigious Undisputed WWE Championship. Lastly, CM Punk and Drew McIntyre will be strapped to one another as the two fierce rivals fight in a Strap Match.
Considering Triple H's quality-over-quantity approach, the current match card is unlikely to experience many significant additions because four bouts have already been confirmed.
However, Hunter's formula for fewer matches at PLEs means that these four deserving superstars may not be booked for WWE Bash in Berlin.
#4 and #3. Sheamus and Pete Dunne should have fought each other at WWE Bash in Berlin
The primary motivation for pairing Sheamus and Pete Dunne as one entry is due to their ongoing rivalry. The Bruiserweight blindsided and assaulted his former mentor multiple times, which led to a one-on-one bout on the August 19 edition of RAW.
However, WWE should have saved Sheamus vs. Dunne for Berlin. First and foremost, their brewing program had enough heat to warrant a spot on the card. Secondly, both men would have been fan-favorites in Germany, considering their European heritage.
Triple H may look to book a rematch between the former friends, but he seems content with booking the program as a TV feud despite its attractive nature to the German crowd.
#2. Ilja Dragunov
Ilja Dragunov is considered one of the toughest wrestlers in pro wrestling. After all, The Mad Dragon defeated Gunther to win the NXT UK Championship. Fans are clamoring for the two hard-hitters to lock horns again, but it will certainly not happen at WWE Bash in Berlin.
Their bouts on NXT UK were splendid and universally praised. Gunther and Dragunov have unmatched chemistry, and fans would have appreciated WWE giving them the spotlight to create magic in Berlin.
Nevertheless, Orton ended up becoming the challenger for the World Heavyweight Championship, while Dragunov remained directionless.
The Mad Dragon is of Russian-German descent. Therefore, he would have been a massive attraction in Berlin.
#1. Roman Reigns should have been booked for WWE Bash in Berlin
Roman Reigns returned to put Solo Sikoa on notice and take back his Ula Fala. However, The Original Tribal Chief was written off TV with a brutal assault from The Bloodline 2.0, and it doesn't appear as if Reigns will be wrestling at Bash in Berlin.
The OTC may be the hottest act in WWE today. Babyface Roman Reigns has clicked well with the audience, who have shown great interest in the former Universal Champion.
Considering Reigns' star power, his presence would have bolstered the card for Bash in Berlin. The PLE would feel more special and historic as fans would tune in to watch the OTC's first in-ring match in months.
