With WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders, and Chairs just around the corner, the WWE Universe are gearing up for the end of 2018.

This year has seen everything, from shocking debuts to heartbreaking retirements, to monumental returns and championship victories.

But with 2018 drawing to a close we now look forward to 2019, with the 2019 Royal Rumble pay per view not far away.

2019 is already shaping up to be a huge year, with rumored NXT callups like the Undisputed Era hopefully making their presence known on the main roster at some point over the next 12 months.

But we all know that the WWE has a soft spot for nostalgia, and, especially in recent years, haven't been afraid to have Superstars from the past return to wrestle one more time.

Here are four WWE Superstars who we could see return to the company in 2019.

#4 The Rock

One of the biggest stars in Hollywood, at a first glance, it doesn't make sense that the Brahma Bull would need to return to the WWE.

With that said, we all know that the Great One has never really lost his love for Wrestling, having a handful of matches from 2012-2013, and making several one-night returns in person.

He is also the favorite to win the 2019 Men's Royal Rumble match, which would presumably see Rock-Brock 2 at WrestleMania, a sequel to their Summerslam 2002 match, where Lesnar won his first world championship.

Returning to the company could also provide great publicity for his upcoming film 'Fighting with my Family', which is set for a March 2019 release, and will tell the story of current SmackDown Live General Manager Paige.
