3 WWE superstars who may never return to TV

Releases are part and parcel of the tumultuous world in WWE, but most departures tend to arouse much interest. Attention is piqued when the released star publicly announces his departure or the company issues a public statement.

However, since Triple H assumed the throne in July 2022, such information has been kept close to the vest. This was especially the case in 2024 when a handful of important stars were let go by the Stamford-based promotion.

On that note, let's look at three stars who WWE quietly released in 2024.

#3. Becky Lynch was one of WWE's most popular stars

"The Man" Becky Lynch was one of the members of WWE's Four Horsewomen. A true trailblazer for the women's division, Lynch won many titles and consistently enjoyed the spotlight.

Her husband, Seth "Freakin" Rollins, signed a long-term contract with the Stamford-based promotion. But, it appears as if Lynch didn't do the same when her contract expired in May.

The former Women's Champion wrestled her last match against Liv Morgan on the May 27th edition of RAW, and her immediate interactions suggested that she was leaving the company.

Lynch is expected to re-sign with the company, but nothing has been set in stone, which raises more questions than answers about her status.

#2. MVP

Montel Vontanious Porter is widely remembered as one of the longest-reigning US Champions. Although he enjoyed a decent run in the mid-card during the PG-Era, MVP recently gained popularity as the mastermind of The Hurt Business and Omos' manager.

The veteran had phenomenal mic work, and WWE utilized this to its advantage. First, he was paired with Bobby Lashley, who won the top prize twice during his partnership with MVP. After betraying Lashley, he aligned with The Nigerian Giant, Omos.

The Nigerian Giant has been sparingly used under the Triple H regime, last appearing in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal in April on SmackDown.

Although Omos is probably still employed, many media outlets recently reported that MVP had been removed from WWE's internal roster, fueling speculation that the veteran had left the company.

If this is indeed the case and MVP has left the Stamford-based promotion, much scrutiny will occur on how he could have better been utilized as a manager.

#1. Former WWE Champion, Bobby Lashley

Bobby Lashley's rumored departure has taken the wrestling world by storm. No official announcement has been made, and both parties have remained quiet. But, media outlets are reporting that Lashley has been removed from WWE's internal roster.

The All Mighty has been strangely missing since May 2024, when he was removed from the King of The Ring Tournament. Lashley was leading a faction that included B-Fab and The Street Profits, and as a main-event caliber star, he could be inserted into the championship scene when needed.

Lashley's second run proved to be successful as the veteran won the WWE Championship twice. Triple H could have better utilized him towards the end of his run, but The All Mighty had already achieved much success.
