4 takeaways from WWE Crown Jewel 2024
WWE Crown Jewel 2024 was a historic evening as the company crowned two first-time champions in commemoration of the show and the Saudi Arabian fans. The PLE was quite enjoyable, with quality in-ring action and a good dose of drama.
Cody Rhodes defeated Gunther, and Liv Morgan triumphed over Nia Jax to become the inaugural Crown Jewel Champions. To end the show, both champions celebrated with Triple H and the live crowd.
On that note, let's look at four takeaways from WWE Crown Jewel 2024.
#4. The Bloodline civil war will be settled inside WarGames at Survivor Series
Triple H has been building towards a dream civil war between The Original Bloodline, led by Roman Reigns, and The New Bloodline, headed by Solo Sikoa. Considering the mass of humanity involved, fans desired this multi-man battle for Survivor Series: WarGames.
WWE Crown Jewel essentially confirmed the match. After Solo Sikoa surprisingly pinned Roman Reigns, The Bloodline 2.0 pounced on The OTC and The Usos. Sami Zayn entered the fray and finally made his decision by siding with The OG Bloodline, the side chosen by his good friend, Jey Uso.
Although Zayn accidentally Helluva Kicked Reigns and The OG Bloodline got into a huge disagreement, The OG Bloodline will eventually settle their differences to take down Sikoa and his dangerous team.
#3. Despite his loss at WWE Crown Jewel, "Big" Bronson Reed isn't done with Seth "Freakin" Rollins
"Big" Bronson Reed's path of dominance was halted at WWE Crown Jewel. Seth "Freakin" Rollins avoided a second Tsunami and followed it up with a Curb Stomp to seal the victory.
As The Visionary walked to the back, Reed got back to his feet, still ready for a fight. Later, in an exclusive interview. the monster revealed that he wasn't finished with Monday Night Rollins.
Although they have taken each other to their limit, it appears that both men, especially Reed, want to inflict more damage. Hence, Rollins should watch out for the Australian star.
#2. Randy Orton and Kevin Owens will have to suffer serious consequences
Randy Orton and Kevin Owens were set to collide in a grudge match at WWE Crown Jewel. The nature of their rivalry was pretty violent and volatile since it centered around KO's heartbreaking betrayal of Orton.
But, all hell broke loose at Crown Jewel even before the bell rang. The Prizefighter assaulted The Viper while Orton was posing on the ropes. The action quickly spilled out of control as backstage officials and authority figures got involved.
RAW General Manager, Adam Pearce, took an RKO from the 14-time World Champion. Meanwhile, KO Stunned a referee and crushed Orton with an Elbow Drop.
Both men crossed all boundaries and exceeded their limits by putting their hands on the wrong people and taking the violence to a dangerous level. Hence, there could be severe repercussions for their unruly behavior, which may range from hefty fines to indefinite suspensions.
#1. Roman Reigns is no longer invincible
WWE Crown Jewel started off with an upset victory when Solo Sikoa pinned Roman Reigns, the man who was the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion for 1,316 days to win the Six-Man Tag Team match for his team.
The Usos were less protected assets than The OTC, and they could have easily taken the pinfall. Furthermore, Reigns also took an unintentional Helluva Kick from Sami Zayn, making him look more vulnerable.
One year ago, fans would have laughed at the idea of Reigns being pinned. However, The OTC has been humbled a lot in 2024. From losing to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania XL to losing his tribe, Roman Reigns no longer seems invincible.
Solo Sikoa's pinfall win deepens Reigns' woes and builds sympathy for The OTC. The added vulnerability builds into the babyface narrative Triple H is building for him.
