4 things that can happen after Brock Lesnar broke Cody Rhodes' arm on WWE RAW - Top star to take time off, unbelievable win

WWE RAW featured an ongoing story throughout most of the show. The featured storyline highlighted the rivalry between Brock Lesnar and Cody Rhodes. The two stars clashed at Backlash 2023 and are set to collide again at Night of Champions.

As soon as The American Nightmare arrived at the building in Hershey, Brock jumped backstage and hurt Rhodes' arm. Cody then confronted The Beast again in the ring, which resulted in Brock further injuring Rhodes, potentially even breaking his arm.

From there, medical and Adam Pearce attempted to help Cody, but The American Nightmare refused assistance. This led to a show-closing talk between Rhodes and Triple H, with the former making it clear that, injured or not, he was going to fight Brock in Saudi Arabia.

Following the shocking fight on the red brand, what could happen moving forward? Could a top star end up taking time off? Could Brock hold an open challenge of sorts, as he likely won't sweat Cody?

Below are four things that can happen after Brock Lesnar broke Cody Rhodes' arm on WWE RAW.

#4. Cody Rhodes could take time off following Night of Champions

The vicious attack on Cody Rhodes was unfortunate, as it potentially puts the big-time bout at WWE Night of Champions in jeopardy. Thankfully, it appears that the match will still take place in Saudi Arabia.

With that being said, this could be bad news for fans of The American Nightmare. If Cody's arm isn't already completely broken, it likely will be by the time he and Lesnar finish their match at Night of Champions. Simply put, Brock will do his best to injure his opponent. In many ways, Lesnar is like a shark, and he smells blood in the water.

Cody's last match prior to taking time off for surgery was in early June of last year. Could The American Nightmare end up missing a lot of time due to an arm injury this year too? It would be a shame, but it seems possible.

#3. The Beast could hold his open challenge

Brock Lesnar came out to ringside during WWE RAW after having attacked The American Nightmare backstage. Upon doing so, Brock said he was making an open challenge to anybody at Night of Champions.

This was interrupted by Cody Rhodes, which led to another skirmish between the two and Brock further injuring The American Nightmare. Still, Lesnar could potentially keep that open challenge at the big show in Saudi Arabia. Clearly, he won't take an injured Cody seriously as a threat.

If The Beast does hold an open challenge, there's a handful of intriguing superstars who could accept. Could LA Knight or Bobby Lashley stand up to Brock? Or maybe Mustafa Ali after Lesnar verbally embarrassed him backstage? A second Lesnar fight could be intriguing.

#2. Brock Lesnar could be suspended by WWE management

Brock Lesnar is one of the biggest draws in WWE. His fame and notoriety is a huge selling point. The company knows that fans will show up to an event if The Beast is on the card. Still, a line has to be drawn at some point.

Lesnar shows no regard for the safety of others. He has viciously assaulted his co-workers, WWE staff, and even upper management. Despite his poor behavior, Lesnar almost always gets a free pass or simply a fine, which, given the amount of money he makes, isn't much of a punishment.

The company, and Adam Pearce in particular, will need to stand up to Brock Lesnar. He potentially jeopardized one of the three main events for Night of Champions, arguably the most anticipated. Management may choose to suspend him without pay for his actions.

#1. Cody Rhodes could shockingly win their match with one arm

While many fans believed that Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar would no longer take place at WWE Night of Champions, it has become clear that The American Nightmare will compete even with an injured arm.

Doing so is certainly brave, but the move is a risky one. Still, Cody is no stranger to having an epic bout with one usable arm, as he did exactly the same last year when he fought Seth Rollins inside Hell in a Cell.

Not only did Cody fight The Visionary with one arm, but he actually won. While Brock is a different kind of animal altogether, there's a chance Rhodes will go in with an injured arm and still manage to defeat The Beast. It would give Cody the biggest rub possible inside of a WWE ring.
