4 things CM Punk could do on WWE RAW next week
While WWE Monday Night RAW's season premiere took place just last night on the USA Network, the world of pro wrestling never stops. All eyes are already on other programming this week, next weekend, and in the weeks and months ahead.
Next week's edition of Monday Night RAW is already looking like an interesting show. For starters, the World Tag Team Titles will be on the line when The Judgment Day's Finn Balor and JD McDonagh face The New Day.
In addition to that, the legendary CM Punk will return to Monday Night RAW. He missed this week's show due to a brutal assault at the hands of Drew McIntyre just last week. Now, Punk will be appearing live and in person on the red brand's next program.
It isn't quite clear what The Voice Of The Voiceless will be doing on Monday Night RAW next week, but this article will break down a handful of possibilities. This includes potentially showcasing the Hell in a Cell structure ahead of his match with Drew McIntyre, a physical brawl, and more.
Below are four things CM Punk could do on WWE RAW next week.
#4. He could show off the Hell in a Cell structure
The Hell in a Cell Match is one of the most legendary stipulations in WWE history. The concept was first introduced back in 1997 at the In Your House: Badd Blood pay-per-view. It was at that show where The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels went to war.
Many other names have competed in what is known as the devil's playground. Mankind and Triple H are two of the biggest names who helped put the match on the map. In fact, both CM Punk and Drew McIntyre have been in the dangerous WWE cage in the past.
Punk has appeared in the match on five separate occasions. As a result, the company may bring the Hell in a Cell to RAW. From there, they can lower it during a segment and have Punk walk through and around the cage, explaining why it is so dangerous to truly put over the upcoming match.
#3. CM Punk could attack Drew McIntyre
CM Punk showcasing the brutality of Hell in a Cell is possible, but The Straight Edge Superstar might not be feeling particularly corporate or cheerful come WWE RAW. In fact, he might be quite angry.
Drew McIntyre assaulted CM Punk twice on RAW last week. First he did it in front of the fans, but he then also did it while Punk was strapped to a stretcher and heading to an ambulance. It was low and the former WWE Champion has to be seeking revenge.
If Punk can't wait for Bad Blood and their impending Hell in a Cell Match, a major brawl could take place. CM Punk and Drew could fight all over the arena, perhaps getting into it backstage, in gorilla, and even in the crowd.
#2. He could be brutally assaulted again
Unfortunately, there is an option where CM Punk doesn't quite get the revenge on Drew McIntyre that he hopes for. Instead, history could repeat itself from RAW, SmackDown, and even Premium Live Events: Drew McIntyre could be the one standing over Punk's body.
Not only has Drew stood tall over his WWE rival multiple times, but he has sent CM Punk away in an ambulance on multiple occasions as well. Drew is bigger, stronger, younger, and more dangerous.
Unfortunately for the former Straight Edge Society leader, the same could happen come RAW. Despite Adam Pearce likely doing his best to stop it from happening, The Scottish Psychopath could brutally assault Punk again and send the legend packing in an ambulance.
#1. Punk could bring personal security to WWE Monday Night RAW
WWE under Triple H has more fascinating and relevant characters than the promotion has had in decades. Part of the success comes with less black and white generic personalities. Instead, there is more of a grey area.
Some babyface wrestlers can do things that are normally reserved for heels. Alternatively, some villains can have a point or there may be credibility for their claims, but they just take it too far. Come WWE RAW, CM Punk could do something that is unusual for babyfaces.
The Voice Of The Voiceless could arrive with a security team. This could be approved by Triple H, for example, and be done to make sure that McIntyre doesn't injure Punk and prevent the two from clashing at Bad Blood. Punk hiding behind security may seem unusual, but it may be the best way to keep their impending bout in place.
