4 things Logan Paul must do on the final SmackDown before WWE SummerSlam

WWE Friday Night SmackDown will be airing tomorrow on the FOX network. This show is going to be a big one, as it is the final edition of the blue brand ahead of the massive SummerSlam premium live event this weekend.

Three key things have been promoted for this edition of SmackDown, including two matches. The Unholy Union will defend the Women's Tag Team Title against Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill, plus DIY will put their title on the line against The Bloodline.

Beyond those bouts, Logan Paul is being promoted for the show. The Maverick is returning home to Cleveland, Ohio, ahead of a major match at SummerSlam. He will be defending his United States Championship against LA Knight at the event.

With The Maverick set to be in action at SummerSlam and appear on SmackDown, what will he do on the blue brand? This article will take a look at a handful of things Paul must do ahead of his match at The Biggest Party of the Summer.

Below are four things Logan Paul must do on the final SmackDown before WWE SummerSlam.

#4. The Maverick should talk trash about LA Knight to hype up their match

WWE and pro wrestling in general rely on verbal lashings as much as physical ones. The promos and verbal confrontations that the likes of John Cena, The Rock, Hulk Hogan, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins have mastered have sold more tickets than anything that happened in the ring.

As such, Logan Paul's duty as a WWE star, and especially as a champion, is to create interest in his matches. Needless to say, the best way to go about that is by cutting promos. Knight could do that on SmackDown.

The Maverick may point out more of LA Knight's alleged shortcomings and call the veteran star out on it. Who knows, Knight could return the favor and talk trash back, which could make for another fun segment between the two.

#3. He should embrace the fans during his homecoming

Ohio is home to several WWE stars. Johnny Gargano is famously from the area, as is absent star Alexa Bliss. If that wasn't enough, SummerSlam guest host The Miz is also an Ohio native.

Perhaps the most famous name to come out of Ohio and compete in the ring is Logan Paul. The Maverick represents Ohio as much as he can and has been promoting his "homecoming" for WWE SmackDown this Friday.

While Paul is normally a heel, he shouldn't try to force boos when he appears on SmackDown. Instead, he needs to embrace the fans, supposing that they cheer him, as fighting it would just lead to an awkward segment and potentially pushback at SummerSlam.

#2. Logan Paul must try to attack LA Knight on WWE SmackDown

LA Knight is one of the most popular stars in WWE. While much of his popularity comes from the way Knight can run his mouth, it is also partially due to his never-backing-down attitude. Knight will fight at any time.

Logan Paul is different. He only likes to fight when he gets paid for it, which is usually at big, premium live events. Still, the WWE star isn't afraid of jumping people if it gives him an advantage. He has done this to the likes of Kevin Owens, Randy Orton, and Seth Rollins in the past.

The reality is this: Logan Paul is heading into SummerSlam as the underdog. To turn the odds in his favor, he needs to attack LA Knight and potentially soften up The Megastar ahead of their big United States Championship match.

#1. He could kiss his title goodbye

The final thing Logan Paul must do on WWE Friday Night SmackDown may seem a bit controversial to some, but it is necessary. The Maverick must take a look at his coveted United States title and kiss it goodbye.

As noted, Logan is defending his title against a far more experienced star. LA Knight has been wrestling for a few decades now and has battled some of the very best the industry has ever had. That kind of experience can't be replicated, no matter how good Logan is at being a WWE star.

The other deciding factors are passion and drive. Knight has a burning desire to win his first major title in the largest wrestling promotion in the world after decades of hard work. Paul just can't match the desire, and he will almost surely lose on Saturday. As a result, he should appreciate his title while he has it.
