4-time babyface World Champion to cost Damian Priest the World Title? Exploring potential help for GuntherĀ
Following this week's RAW, the next battle for the World Heavyweight Championship has been set. Damian Priest will get a chance to win back the title he lost to Gunther at SummerSlam. Given how their last bout went, their next match, to quote Sheamus, is sure to be a "banger!" However, there is a chance that a four-time babyface World Champion could end up costing The Archer of Infamy.
The babyface in this scenario is actually quite familiar with Gunther. After all, he was belittled by The Ring General not too long ago. If you haven't guessed already, it's none other than the former two-time Universal Champion and two-time World Heavyweight Champion, Goldberg. The Myth had a tense confrontation with Gunther at WWE Bad Blood, but this does not explain why he would cost Damian Priest the World Heavyweight Title.
Well, if one thing was established in Bad Blood, it was that Goldberg now has his eyes on Gunther. In other words, The Ring General is "Next!" With that in mind, the Hall of Famer may not want anyone to get to his prey before him. So, in a shocking twist, he could cost Damian Priest the World Heavyweight Championship match, inadvertently helping Gunther.
As things stand, though, this is nothing more than speculation. But there is no denying that this would add some spice to the existing storyline.
Goldberg could end up facing either Damian Priest or Gunther in his retirement match
In case you haven't heard, Goldberg recently announced that he will have his much-awaited retirement match in 2025. The legendary wrestler, who has been wanting to ride off into the sunset for quite some time now, will perform in-ring duties last time next year. And given the nature of the situation, it only makes sense to have the match at WrestleMania 41.
Now, should the previous scenario come to pass, it would make perfect sense for Goldberg to face either one of Damian Priest or Gunther. Ideally, The Ring General would make the most sense, especially given their history together. But there is no telling what the future holds at this point, so we will all just have to wait and see.
Either way, Goldberg's final match is sure to be epic. It is something that he has been wanting for years, and he's finally getting it. Hopefully, it goes exactly the way the former WWE World Champion has always imagined.
