4 titles that could change hands before WWE Royal Rumble 2025

WWE Royal Rumble 2025 will air live from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. The premium live event is one of the biggest shows of the year, and the winners of the men's and women's Royal Rumble matches will go on to challenge for a major title at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas.

The event will take place on February 1 next year, and there is plenty of time for the company to make some title changes. The company may want to crown new champions on the road to WrestleMania 41.

Listed below are four titles that could change hands ahead of Royal Rumble 2025.

#4. Gunther could lose his title ahead of WWE Royal Rumble 2025

Gunther is the reigning World Heavyweight Champion and successfully defended the title against Damian Priest this past Saturday night at WWE Survivor Series. However, The Judgment Day's Finn Balor interfered in the match and cost Priest his chance to capture the title. Gunther did not appreciate Balor's interference and will be defending the title against him at Saturday Night's Main Event.

The Ring General has had a rough time as of late. Damian Priest played mind games with the World Heavyweight Champion ahead of Survivor Series, and it appeared to work. Gunther does not have the same confidence he used to and could lose the title ahead of Royal Rumble next year.

#3. Nia Jax could lose the WWE Women's Championship

Nia Jax defeated Bayley at SummerSlam to capture the WWE Women's Championship. The Irresistible Force was in action in the Women's WarGames Match this past Saturday at Survivor Series, but her team came up short.

Tiffany Stratton won the Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match earlier this year but still has not cashed in for a title match. The Buff Barbie could finally cash in on Nia Jax in the weeks ahead and become the new WWE Women's Champion ahead of Royal Rumble 2025.

#2. Liv Morgan may lose the Women's World Championship soon

Women's World Champion Liv Morgan has been involved in a personal rivalry with Rhea Ripley for months. Morgan has taken Dominik Mysterio and The Judgment Day from Rhea Ripley during their rivalry so far. However, Ripley got a measure of revenge during the Women's WarGames Match at Survivor Series and pinned Morgan after connecting with a Riptide through a table.

IYO SKY will be challenging the 30-year-old for the title at Saturday Night's Main Event next weekend. If The Genius of the Sky fails to capture the title, Rhea Ripley could be in line for another title shot and could become the Women's World Champion once again ahead of Royal Rumble. Ripley previously held the title but was forced to relinquish it following WrestleMania XL due to injury.

#1. Cody Rhodes could lose the Undisputed WWE Championship before Royal Rumble 2025

Cody Rhodes defeated Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania XL to capture the Undisputed WWE Championship. The American Nightmare is scheduled to defend the title against Kevin Owens at Saturday Night's Main Event on December 14.

Rhodes has had an impressive reign so far, but the company could be considering a surprising title change. The 39-year-old may drop the title ahead of the premium live event and could attempt to win the Men's Royal Rumble Match for the third year in a row next February.
