4 ways Charlotte Flair could return to WWE with new darker character
WWE star Charlotte Flair has been out of action for over a year. The former champion suffered a torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus during a singles match against Damage CTRL's Asuka on the December 8, 2023, edition of SmackDown.
The veteran has been rumored to return to WWE television for weeks, but it still has not happened yet. Flair could potentially return as a heel in the weeks ahead and become one of the most despised stars on the roster.
Listed below are four ways Charlotte Flair could return to the company as a heel.
#4. Charlotte Flair could be revealed as the mystery attacker on WWE SmackDown
Jade Cargill is one-half of the Women's Tag Team Champions but has not been seen since she was brutally attacked on the November 22 edition of WWE SmackDown. Naomi has since replaced Cargill in her tag team with Bianca Belair, and the duo successfully defended the titles against Nia Jax and Candice LeRae this past Friday night on the blue brand.
Charlotte Flair could make her return in the coming weeks and reveal that she was the one who attacked Jade Cargill last month. A rivalry with Flair would be the biggest storyline for Cargill so far.
#3. Flair could ruin Tiffany Stratton's Money in the Bank cash-in
Tiffany Stratton won the Women's Money in the Bank Ladder match earlier this year and can cash in for a title opportunity at a time and place of her choosing. She is currently in an alliance with WWE Women's Champion Nia Jax on SmackDown, but the two stars have not been getting along as of late.
Flair could return in the coming weeks to cost Tiffany Stratton her Money in the Bank cash-in. The Buff Barbie may be considering betraying Jax on SmackDown, but The Queen could return to attack her. Stratton would instantly become a major babyface if her Money in the Bank cash-in was ruined, and Flair could serve as her rival moving forward.
#2. The veteran could interfere in the Women's Intercontinental Championship tournament
The company recently introduced the Women's Intercontinental Championship and there is a tournament underway on WWE RAW. The tournament's semifinals will take place next Monday night on the red brand, with Dakota Kai scheduled to battle Zoey Stark and IYO SKY set to face Lyra Valkyria.
Charlotte Flair could make her triumphant return to the company as a heel and interfere in the finals of the Women's Intercontinental Championship tournament. She could then reveal that she is officially moving to RAW and has made it her mission to become the Women's Intercontinental Champion.
#1. Flair could cost Rhea Ripley the Women's World Championship
Rhea Ripley defeated Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 39 to capture the SmackDown Women's Championship. The Eradicator also recently sent a warning to the 38-year-old ahead of her return to action.
Ripley will challenge Liv Morgan for the Women's World Championship on WWE RAW's debut episode on Netflix on January 6, 2025. Charlotte Flair could decide to return at the major event next month and interfere in Ripley's title match. Many wrestling fans are hoping to see Rhea Ripley become champion again, and Charlotte Flair ruining that opportunity would turn the WWE Universe against her.
