4 ways Shinsuke Nakamura can defeat LA Knight to become the new US Champion at WWE Survivor Series WarGames
WWE Survivor Series is the company's next big premium live event. In fact, the PLE will be the final one for both RAW and SmackDown in 2024. The show is set to take place at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on Saturday.
Survivor Series is looking stacked. There will be two WarGames Matches, with one featuring the best women's performers in the world and the other highlighting members of The Bloodline. There are also three title matches booked.
One of the more interesting bouts is LA Knight defending his United States Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura. The Artist returned to television just a few weeks ago after spending most of 2024 away and now he's already lined up a title bout.
This article will take a look at a handful of ways Nakamura could manage to defeat Knight. The Megastar has been unstoppable as the United States Champion, but can Shinsuke find a way to defeat him? There are certainly some intriguing ways that he could do so.
Below are four ways Shinsuke Nakamura can defeat LA Knight to become the new US champion at WWE Survivor Series WarGames.
#4. He could shockingly win cleanly
Shinsuke Nakamura is an interesting figure. While he has spent the bulk of the past few years as a villain, WWE fans used to love him. This is both thanks to his infectious charisma and his incredible in-ring skills.
Those in-ring skills have led The King of Strong Style to a lot of success. He is a former NXT Champion, United States Champion, and Intercontinental Champion. Shinsuke Nakamura has even won the Royal Rumble Match in the past. He is extremely talented.
Given how good of a wrestler Nakamura is, when he battles LA Knight, his skills may be all that he needs. Shinsuke could nail LA with the Kinshasa and pin The Megastar cleanly. While this would shock some fans, long-time viewers know how good Nakamura could be.
#3. Shinsuke Nakamura could bring back the low blow
Shinsuke Nakamura started his WWE career as a beloved babyface, but something changed in 2018. During a feud with AJ Styles, Nakamura began routinely hitting the former world champion with a low blow.
It seemed like every time AJ turned around, Nakamura was nailing him with a low blow. He even did it at WrestleMania. Eventually, The Phenomenal One began returning the favor and hitting low blows of his own. It was truly comical.
Come WWE Survivor Series WarGames, the heel Nakamura could bring back the move from the past. If the referee is distracted or laid out, Shinsuke could nail LA with a low blow. This would allow him to hit a Kinsasha and pick up a win, albeit through dubious means.
#2. He could use the mist behind the referee's back
Speaking of dubious means, Shinsuke Nakamura could bring back a different method for hurting LA Knight: he could bring back the mist and blast his foe in the face behind the referee's back.
For those unaware, the mist is a tactic used by wrestlers such as The Great Muta, Asuka, Tajiri, and even Hornswoggle. The performer has some kind of chemical in their mouth and spits it into the eyes of their opponent, temporarily blinding them.
While covering the opponent's face in green or red could be grounds for disqualification, Nakamura could be smart and cover Knight's face when pinning the champion at WWE Survivor Series. This could then mean he wins the title before the referee can realize what he did. It would certainly be a cheap victory, but it has worked for some of the best, so it might work here.
#1. Nakamura could be aided by new stablemates from SmackDown and WWE NXT
Perhaps the most interesting way Shinsuke Nakamura could win the WWE United States Championship could come thanks to interference. More specifically, this could be leading to Nakamura forming a new stable.
For example, NXT's Dante Chen could appear. The Singaporean was seemingly set to form a face-painted alliance with Boa, but they never became an official unit and Boa was later released by WWE. The young star becoming Nakamura's young lion would make a lot of sense.
Luke Gallows could also unite with Nakamura. Karl Anderson will be away from the ring for months due to an injury, so this would give the big man something to do. Perhaps Dante could distract the referee and Gallows could hit a sit-out chokebomb on Knight. Nakamura could then get the pin once the referee turns around. This would then set Shinsuke up as a dominant champion moving forward.
