4 ways WWE can proceed with Brock Lesnar as the Universal Champion
This was bound to happen one way or the other. The moment Brock Lesnar won the Money in the Bank contract in the Ladder Match, it became apparent that a major title was going to be on his shoulders soon.
In the beginning, the decision was about which championship: was it going to be Kofi Kingston’s WWE Championship or Seth Rollins’ Universal Title? Ultimately, it became clear that the Beast was eying the title that he had lost to his slayer at WrestleMania.
With two failed cash-ins in a row in the last two years, it was impossible that WWE would make a hat trick of it, especially with Brock Lesnar holding it – there was no way they would make a mockery out of the Beast by letting him fail with the briefcase.
So, considering all of this, Lesnar was bound to have the title sooner rather than later. At Extreme Rules, he cashed in his contract against Seth Rollins to regain the WWE Universal Title.
And now, here are four ways WWE can go on about it…
#4 Re-feud with Rollins
This is a very common way to go on about this now. Seth Rollins has been feuding with Lesnar for a better part of the year now and it could continue at least until SummerSlam next month.
Since the Beast grabbed the title off him in a sudden manner, Rollins has a case for a rematch against Lesnar. WWE might have done away with rematches but recent history suggests the contrary.
Daniel Bryan, for example, got a rematch for the WWE Championship on RAW. And while Lesnar never really got one after losing the title to Rollins, the Beast Slayer could be given a shot at SummerSlam against the Beast Incarnate.
