4 wrestlers who can retire Kurt Angle
There are not many wrestlers who have been as successful as Kurt Angle. Who would have thought that an Olympic Gold Medallist would come to professional wrestling and take the business by storm! Angle had the basics right from the start – athletic ability, flawless timing, and natural talent on the mic.
He truly lived up to his motto of intelligence, intensity, and integrity, and will go down as one of the best pound-for-pound wrestler in WWE's history.
In 2017, Angle returned to WWE and was inducted into the Hall of Fame. In 2018, he is set to team up with Ronda Rousey for a match against Triple H and Stephanie McMahon at WrestleMania 34.
Angle may be nearing his retirement, and here are some wrestlers who can bid farewell to the legend.
#4 Bobby Lashley
Bobby Lashley made his debut in WWE in 2004 and was handpicked by Vince McMahon, described as The Chosen One. He held the United States Championship once, and had a great run as the ECW Champion and was soon made the face of the brand.
Unfortunately, WWE could not book him as the star he was supposed to be, and thus was released a year later.
It is rumored that Lashley is set to return to WWE after a gap of 10 years. After spending years on the independent circuit and TNA/Impact Wrestling, he's improved significantly. The fans would love to see one of the most athletic and agile wrestlers in the world back in WWE.
One way to bring back Lashley can be him starting a feud with Kurt Angle. Lashley stated in an interview how Angle helped him get into professional wrestling. On his return, Lashley could go to shake hands with his mentor but instead, hit him with a dominator, making him an instant villain.
The spot for the top heel on Raw is still open, and Angle and Lashley are no strangers to each other as they had some amazing matches during their time at Impact Wrestling. The RAW GM wrestled his last match in Impact against Lashley, but ended up on the losing side.
A high-profile rivalry with Angle would get Lashley the much-deserved attention he never received. Lashley is a solid in-ring worker, and the two can put on a phenomenal match.
Lashley retiring Kurt Angle would set him up as a monstrous heel and get him over with the WWE Universe.
