4 WWE feuds for former AEW star Ethan Page following surprising NXT debut
WWE NXT aired last night on the USA Network and the show was extremely memorable. Roxanne Perez's next challenger was revealed to be TNA Wrestling's Jordynne Grace, more of the NXT Battleground card was finalized, and the show ended in an absolute shocker.
Trick Williams teamed up with the Young O.G. himself Je'Von Evans to take on Gallus. After the bout, Trick was questioned by Lash Legend regarding recent attacks on both Noam Dar and Oro Mensah in the middle of the ring.
It was abundantly clear that Williams wasn't behind the attacks, but it was confirmed when the lights went out and former AEW star Ethan Page showed up to attack Trick. Needless to say, this was a shocker that nobody saw coming.
Ethan Page's entry into World Wrestling Entertainment opens up the possibilities for numerous intriguing rivalries and stories. This article will take a look at a handful of potential feuds for the talented Canadian star in the near future.
Below are four WWE feuds for former AEW star Ethan Page following his surprising NXT debut.
#4. Trick Williams should be out for blood
Trick Williams is one of the most over stars in all of WWE today. He started off as Carmelo Hayes' hype man but has gone on to win the North American Champion and is currently the reigning NXT Champion.
As noted in the intro, it was Trick Williams who felt the brunt of Ethan Page's aggressions, as the former ROH star debuted by laying the NXT Champion out in the middle of the ring. That made a big statement upon his WWE debut; however, it may prove to be a mistake.
There is no chance that Trick will let that attack by Page go unchecked. As a result, the two are very likely to wrestle sooner rather than later. If Noam Dar can't make the Battleground event, perhaps Williams will defend his belt against All Ego instead.
#3. Noam Dar and Meta-Four may want revenge too
The Meta-Four is a faction currently on the WWE NXT brand. The group consists of the leader Noam Dar, Lash Legend, Jakara Jackson, and Oro Mensah. They are loud, obnoxious, and brash, but they're highly entertaining.
Unfortunately, the group had to face Ethan Page's wrath. Noam Dar was attacked recently, and then during this week's edition of WWE NXT, Oro Mensah was also jumped backstage. Many believed it to be Trick Williams, but that isn't the case. It was All Ego.
Now that we know it was Ethan Page, Noam Dar may want revenge whenever he's back on television. Just like Page made an enemy out of Trick Williams, he very likely made one out of the entire Meta-Four, which is a risky move.
#2. Ethan Page has a history with Johnny Gargano
Johnny Gargano is one of the best in-ring performers WWE has. He had a lot of success on NXT, having won tag team gold, the North American Championship, and the NXT Championship. He is yet to replicate that success on the main roster, however.
Ethan Page and Johnny Wrestling actually have a lot of history together. The two men feuded a lot on the independent scene. In fact, they had big-time matches in AIW, AAW, and even in EVOLVE Wrestling.
Once Johnny joined WWE full-time, the two stopped feuding, but their rivalry could be re-awakened now that Ethan has joined World Wrestling Entertainment. Johnny could return to NXT to feud with his former rival or the two could clash on SmackDown.
#1. Cody Rhodes is the top dog in WWE
Cody Rhodes is on top of the world. He is the Undisputed WWE Champion, having defeated Roman Reigns for the prized title in the main event of WrestleMania XL Sunday. He has since defended the gold against both Logan Paul and AJ Styles in consecutive PLE main events.
Much like Johnny Gargano, All Ego has a history with Cody Rhodes too. The two clashed in EVOLVE and in All Elite Wrestling. They also teamed up together in the Canadian A1 promotion.
Rhodes is the top dog in the company. The Undisputed WWE Champion will always need new opponents, however, and Page may be the perfect option given their history. If nothing else, the match would be completely fresh to fans of RAW, SmackDown, and NXT, which is always ideal.
