4 WWE RAW Superstars who are currently injured
Several WWE RAW Superstars are currently on the injured list, and it has been a hot minute since they were last seen in action. Some of them have been out of in-ring action due to the extent of the injury that they sustained, and their fans have been concerned if they would ever see them compete again.
Injuries in professional wrestling are an inherent and inevitable part of the sport. Even the most cautious superstars performing well-choreographed moves are still susceptible to getting seriously hurt.
Thankfully, due to huge leaps in technological advancement in medicine, injuries endured by these battle-scarred superstars could be treated, not to mention shorten their recovery time.
Here are four WWE RAW Superstars who are currently out of action due to injury.
#4. Kiana James
Kiana James became a part of the main roster back in April when she was drafted to RAW. A couple of months after being drafted, she won her debut match against no other than fellow WWE RAW Superstar Natalya.
However, just as when all things were going smoothly for her, she suffered an injury last September, and it was revealed that she might be out of action for about six months. Details about her injury were pretty vague, stating that she suffered a leg injury.
This resulted in her name being moved from the active roster to the promotion’s miscellaneous roster.
#3. Tyler Bate
Tyler Bate is another promising WWE Superstar who also got sidelined due to an injury. It happened during the July 2 episode of NXT, where he and Pete Dunne, collectively known as the New Catch Republic, faced off against the tag duo of Hank Walker and Tank Ledger.
At the tail end of the match, it could be seen that Bate was having issues with his left arm. After bagging the win, it could also be observed that Dunne prevented the referee from raising his tag partner’s left arm before saying something to the ref.
It was later revealed that Bate tore his left pectoral off the bone, which resulted in him getting under the knife on July 8. The extent of his injury was serious, and he might be out of action for the rest of the year.
#2. RAW's Mad Dragon Ilja Dragunov
WWE RAW Superstar and former NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov has been recuperating from an injury, and fans won't see him for quite some time.
It was during a September 28 house show when the Unbesiegbar sustained the injury when he went toe-to-toe against reigning WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther. This was for the latter’s gold, where the champ successfully defended his belt.
On the following episode of the red brand, it was announced that Dragunov suffered a suspected torn ACL (Anterior Cruciate ligament) that was later confirmed by experts. The announcement was even posted on WWE’s X (fka Twitter) account, where Dragunov could be seen limping after the match.
The same post also stated that Dragunov was expected to be out of action for around six to nine months.
Moreover, the World Heavyweight Champion retweeted the promotion’s post alongside the caption “weak things break.”
Dragunov would certainly not let it pass, and fans should expect an explosive clash between these two superstars when The Mad Dragon returns to in-ring action.
#1. WWE RAW Superstar Asuka
The Empress of Tomorrow Asuka has been sorely missed by her fans. This after it was revealed that Asuka had been suffering from a knee injury that was in need of surgery.
It was believed that it was first observed during the March 15 edition of SmackDown, where she was noticed to be limping. Still, she managed to compete in several matches, which included WrestleMania XL and Backlash.
It was also at Backlash where Asuka and Kairi Sane lost the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship to Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill, who was recently written off WWE television due to an injury as well. That was the last time Asuka was seen doing some in-ring action within the promotion.
She might be out of action, but the former WWE Women’s Champion has been active on social media, especially on her official YouTube channel (KanaChanTV), where she provides life updates, including her road to recovery.
