4 WWE returns that should be postponed until after SummerSlam

WWE's next premium live event is almost here. The Sports Entertainment titan's next big show is SummerSlam 2024, which will be held on August 3rd. The big show is set to take place at the Cleveland Browns Arena in Cleveland, Ohio and fans are excited.

This PLE is bound to be a big one. There are four world title matches already scheduled. In fact, it will feature the likes of Cody Rhodes, Bayley, Damian Priest, and Liv Morgan putting their coveted belts on the line.

In addition to the matches already confirmed for SummerSlam, it is expected that there will be a surprise or two along the way. Many hope that some major returns could happen at the event, with the most notable being the impending comeback of Roman Reigns.

While there could be a return or two, there are several other stars who are likely on their way back to the ring or will be soon. This article will take a look at a handful of upcoming returns that shouldn't happen at SummerSlam, but instead afterwards.

Below are four WWE returns that should be postponed until after SummerSlam.

#4. Charlotte Flair could be an epic post-WWE SummerSlam return

Charlotte Flair is one of the greatest female competitors of all time and certainly one of the most decorated. She is a 14-time world champion across RAW and SmackDown, but Charlotte has also held gold on NXT and in the tag team ranks.

The Queen last competed on an episode of WWE SmackDown last year. More specifically, she took on Asuka during the December 8th, 2023 edition of the blue brand. An injury took place in the bout and she hasn't been seen in the ring since.

While there's no clear timeline for when The Queen may return to action, Charlotte Flair is borderline superhuman and could be back soon. If she does return, an appearance on the first episode of SmackDown after SummerSlam would shake things up dramatically. This is especially true if Nia Jax is the new champion.

#3. Ludwig Kaiser should return in time for Bash in Berlin

Ludwig Kaiser is a borderline perfect pro wrestler. He has a tremendous physique, makes brilliant facial expressions, can deliver on the microphone, and puts on fantastic bouts. He's also capable of being a cowardly heel or a more aggressive figure, which gives WWE plenty of wiggle room on how to book him.

The A+ Specimen last competed on WWE television over a month ago. The Imperium member went one-on-one with Bron Breakker and the two had an excellent 10-minute match. Unfortunately, Ludwig hurt his ribs in the bout.

While a SummerSlam return would be cool, Kaiser would be best off returning on the RAW after the event. This would allow him to immediately be built up for a big-time bout at Bash in Berlin, which is the next premium live event after The Biggest Party of The Summer.

#2. Alexa Bliss can join The Wyatt Sicks sometime in the coming months

Alexa Bliss is another accomplished female performer. While she never held gold during her tenure on the white and gold brand, Bliss did win the RAW Women's Championship, SmackDown Women's Championship, and WWE Women's Tag Team Titles on the main roster.

Unlike the prior two entries, Bliss' absence from WWE programming isn't due to an injury. Instead, she hasn't competed since the 2023 Royal Rumble event as she has been on maternity leave.

While the new mother has been focused on her family, Alexa has also been hard at work to get in shape. Many believe her return is inevitable and that it will come with The Wyatt Sicks. If that's accurate, Triple H shouldn't rush the return to SummerSlam and instead have it be sometime afterwards.

#1. Raquel Rodriguez should be Liv Morgan's muscle post-SummerSlam

Raquel Rodriguez is one of the most powerful female athletes in all of pro wrestling. Her size and strength have led to some success in WWE, as she's held several tag team titles across NXT and the main roster. Raquel is also a former NXT Women's Champion.

The powerful superstar has been dealing with a health issue over the course of the past year or so, that has forced her away from the ring. Raquel is currently battling Mast Cell Activation Syndrome and hasn't competed since the RAW after Elimination Chamber Perth in February.

That may be changing soon, however. There have been reports indicating that Raquel will be returning to the ring soon. If she does show up on WWE television, many expect her to do so as part of the Rhea Ripley-Liv Morgan feud. If that's true, Dominik Mysterio's inclusion should be limited and this should happen following SummerSlam and whatever angle plays out at the show.
