4 WWE stars who can step up to challenge new Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker
WWE Monday Night RAW aired last night on the USA Network and it was a big-time show. This edition of the red brand featured more build towards the upcoming Crown Jewel Premium Live Event, plus some major matches took place.
The main event of the program and the biggest match of the show saw two top stars battling it out for the Intercontinental Championship. Jey Uso went into the bout defending his prized title against former champion Bron Breakker.
The bout was another good one, but it was interrupted by The Bloodline's Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa. The distraction created ultimately allowed Bron to nail Jey with The Spear and win back his prized belt.
Now that the coveted championship is back around Bron Breakker's waist, who is next for The Big Bad Booty Nephew? Jey Uso will likely be busy with The Bloodline, so who could step up to the new two-time champion?
Below are four WWE stars who can step up to challenge the new Intercontinental Champion, Bron Breakker.
#4. Jacob Fatu and Bron Breakker had a big face-to-face
Jacob Fatu is rapidly becoming one of the biggest stars in WWE. Despite only officially joining the Sports Entertainment juggernaut a few months ago, he has risen to become a major name thanks to his affiliation with The Bloodline.
Jacob showed up on WWE Monday Night RAW alongside Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa. While they cost Jey his Intercontinental Championship, there was a brief, yet intense stare-down between Breakker and The Samoan Werewolf.
While that could have been a teaser for something much further down the line, it could also mean that The Samoan Werewolf might step up and challenge Breakker for the Intercontinental Title. Fatu already won tag team gold, could a mid-card championship be next?
#3. Dominik Mysterio wants a big title match
Dominik Mysterio is one of the most hated WWE Superstars of all time. He is despised by fans and that is made worse by his being part of The Judgment Day, which includes Liv Morgan, Carlito, Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, and Raquel Rodriguez.
On Monday Night RAW last night, it was revealed that the former NXT North American title holder has championship aspirations. More specifically, he hopes to have a World Heavyweight Championship match against Gunther.
While Dom is eyeing the World Heavyweight Championship, everybody knows how poorly that will go given their last battle against each other. Instead, Dirty Dom could try eyeing the Intercontinental Championship. This will surely still be a disaster for the hated superstar, but perhaps he'll have a better shot against Bron Breakker.
#2. Braun Strowman could be a major threat once healthy
Braun Strowman is one of the most impressive big men in modern WWE history. He is a former RAW Tag Team Champion and Universal Champion who fans have grown to love over the years, thanks to his no-nonsense attitude.
Unfortunately, The Monster of all Monsters is taking some time off to recover. He battled Big Bronson Reed in a Last Monster Standing Match on WWE RAW several weeks ago and ended up getting hurt during the bout. Despite that, he did win the match.
Braun will likely be back sooner rather than later and when he does, he's coming off of a massive win. That win could put him in the title hunt, which would be bad news for Bron Breakker. Can The Spear take down a man the size of Braun? If Strowman is healthy, Breakker will be in trouble.
#1. Sheamus' goal is to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship
Sheamus has accomplished a lot in World Wrestling Entertainment. He has held multiple world titles, including the WWE Championship. He is also a former United States Champion and a multi-time tag team champion.
The one title that has constantly eluded The Celtic Warrior is the Intercontinental Championship. He has made it clear time and time again that his goal is to win the belt and become a Grand Slam Champion in WWE. It might be his last goal in the Sports Entertainment juggernaut.
With that in mind, it would make sense for Sheamus to be the one to step up to Bron Breakker. The two have had tense interactions in the past, so for them to finally go toe-to-toe with the Intercontinental Championship on the line would be great long-term storytelling.
