4 WWE stars who may have been the ones to call Drew McIntyre when he was out

The latest episode of WWE Monday Night RAW featured a fantastic opening segment. Drew McIntyre kicked off the show to discuss his issues, specifically with Roman Reigns, CM Punk, and the members of the OG Bloodline.

As has become somewhat common, Sami Zayn interrupted the segment, and the two had a verbal back and forth, which led to them clashing in the main event. While that was quite entertaining, it was a comment from Drew that has left many fans talking.

The Scottish Warrior revealed that he took time away from television after Bad Blood 2024 due to a personal loss. He then lashed out, noting that except for one person, nobody reached out to him from the locker room. Unfortunately, he didn't reveal who it was.

This article will look to explore potential contenders for the same. There are a handful of options based on his history with a select few talents, along with some intriguing options based on The Scottish Psychopath's recent feuds. Who could have made the call?

Below are four WWE stars who may have been the ones to call Drew McIntyre when he was out:

#4. Wade Barrett has been a big supporter of The Scottish Warrior

Wade Barrett is a retired WWE Superstar. During his time as an active competitor, he managed to win the Intercontinental Championship five times. Now, Wade is a commentator on Monday Night RAW alongside Joe Tessitore.

It has been established on WWE television that Wade Barrett and Drew McIntyre are long-time friends. Not only have they teamed up together in World Wrestling Entertainment, but they rose through the ranks of the British indie scene together before signing with the biggest wrestling company on Earth.

Given their friendship, it would make sense for Wade to be the one to reach out to Drew. Of course, they had some issues earlier this year when Barrett thought McIntyre was going too far in his feud with CM Punk. But supposing they put those issues behind them, Barrett being behind the call makes sense.

#3. Kevin Owens and Drew McIntyre see eye-to-eye in WWE

Kevin Owens is a former WWE Universal Champion. He has also held tag team gold, the United States Championship, the Intercontinental Championship, and the NXT Championship. On top of that, KO has headlined WrestleMania twice.

In many ways, Kevin Owens and Drew McIntyre see eye-to-eye. Both men despise the OG Bloodline and have been fighting the group for years now. They also dislike CM Punk. However, Punk-Owens hasn't been explored much yet in WWE.

In what could be an interesting twist, The Prizefighter could be revealed as the one to call Drew. This could be an effort to bond over their mutual enemies, eventually leading to them becoming an on-screen unit. Who knows? Seth Rollins has similar enemies. Will he join the pair, too?

#2. Sheamus and Drew McIntyre are long-time friends

Sheamus is an all-time great. He has been in world title matches at WrestleMania, has won King of the Ring, has stood tall in the Men's Royal Rumble Match, and has even held the Money in the Bank briefcase. Outside of the prized Intercontinental Title, The Celtic Warrior has done nearly all that there is to do.

Like Wade Barrett, Sheamus has a long history with Drew McIntyre. They have been known as The Banger Brothers in WWE and came up through the European indies together before joining the Stamford-based company.

However, the difference is that Sheamus and Drew are often at odds with each other. They have an on-off rivalry, much like Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. Still, despite their issues, Sheamus would likely care enough to reach out even if nobody else on RAW would be willing to do so.

#1. The Rock and Drew McIntyre seemingly have a common link

The Rock is arguably the biggest star in pro wrestling history. While there have been several big names in WWE, none have had the massive Hollywood and international success that The Final Boss has had.

There is an unexpected and almost bizarre link between The Rock and Drew McIntyre. It was The Final Boss who revealed The Scottish Warrior re-signed with WWE earlier this year, revealing the news alongside a gifted sword on social media.

What fans might not be aware of is a potential deeper friendship between the two. Given that The Rock also likely has issues with Roman Reigns now, he and Drew could be secretly plotting together to take down the OG Bloodline, CM Punk, and potentially, even Cody Rhodes. The People's Champion may be the one who made the call.
