4 WWE storylines you probably forgot about
The WWE has produced many great storylines over the years. These storylines have led to some of the most memorable moments in the history of the company. Who could forget about "Stone Cold" Steve Austin rebelling against Vince McMahon and his corporate machine? It was the storyline that defined the Attitude Era and arguably saved the WWF from extinction at the hands of WCW.
More recently, we had the incredible rise of Daniel Bryan as the company's top star and his journey to the main event of Wrestlemania 30. However, for every great storyline there are many that are easily forgotten. They are either forgotten because they were horrible failures or because of the regretful booking decisions, the WWE don't want you to remember them.
Here are 4 WWE storylines that you forgot about.
#4 Vince McMahon's illegitimate son
In the summer of 2007 the WWE spent weeks building a massive storyline around Vince McMahon. It was revealed that the owner of the WWE had an illegitimate son and his identity would be revealed in the weeks to come. The mystery went on for the majority of the summer, and they teased that names like Johnathan Coachman and even Batista could be his child.
On September 10th 2007, Vince invited the entire roster out to the ring for the public reveal. In a suspenseful segment the ring slowly emptied until only his "Son" was left. It was revealed to be Hornswoggle!
However, this wasn't the original plan. Mr Kennedy was supposed to be revealed as Vince's son and this would set up a huge storyline for Wrestlemania. Unfortunately the plans were scrapped after Kennedy failed a wellness policy test the week before. The WWE had invested so much time into this massive storyline that was meant to be a launching pad for a career and instead it became a terrible comedy act.
