45-year-old WWE legend to return and immediately challenge Nia Jax? Exploring potential storyline
Nia Jax could soon have a future WWE Hall of Famer as her next challenger. The WWE Women's Champion has been an 'Irresistible Force' over the past few months. It started with her winning the Queen of the Ring and then the Women's Championship at WWE SummerSlam.
As the search for her next challenger is on, a former Women's Champion could return to the company and challenge Nia Jax. That legend is none other than six-time Women's Champion Mickie James.
The story could start with Nia Jax issuing an open challenge to anyone to feels they can take the champ's title. James could answer the challenge and face her for the WWE Women's Championship.
The story could continue with Aldis signing Mickie James to the blue brand. Nia Jax could then blame the SmackDown General Manager for bringing James in just because she is his wife. This angle eventually could turn out to be the dark horse storyline of the women's division.
The former Women's Champion is currently not an active wrestler and is the chief producer for OVW. However, she is open to a return, if WWE comes calling. Triple H is all for bringing back legends if it can make the show better and bringing James back can certainly do that.
A WWE Hall of Famer doesn't want to retire until she faces Nia Jax
The Women's Champion is one of the most hated superstars on the roster. Jax's dominating personality and her heel antics have made her the perfect villain. While on-screen she receives a lot of boos, off the camera she has a lot of fans and one happens to be a WWE Hall of Famer.
In an interview with TV Insider, WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus revealed her admiration for the current Queen of the Ring. Stratus also claimed she cannot fully retire until she faces the WWE Women's Champion.
“Nia Jax, I’m so happy she came back. She has a great presence. She has been owning it. I really enjoy watching her. I have this weird thing where I don’t think I could fully retire until I’m rag-dolled by her. Is that weird? Imagine that? Then I can retire [laughs].”
Saturday Night's Main Event is the next big show on the WWE calendar. As of this writing, Jax is not yet booked for any match or appearance. Post her loss at WarGames, it will be interesting to see what turn her career takes.
