3 Reasons why Jinder Mahal vs Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series is a good idea and 2 it isn't
Have you heard?
If Dave Meltzer is to be believed, WWE is exploring the possibility of having Universal Champion Brock Lesnar fight WWE Champion Jinder Mahal at Survivor Series.
Now, as we hear it, their titles may not be on the line as Lesnar's limited dates mean that he's only ever going to appear on Raw and Mahal would be relegated straight back to enhancement talent status should he stray from SmackDown Live.
But it does represent a novelty affair between the two wrestlers bearing top billing — on paper at least — on each brand.
Or it represents a freak show, depending on how you look at it.
And to be honest, I can see the sense in both corners.
On that note, here are 3 reasons why Jinder Mahal vs Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series is a good idea and 2 reasons why it isn't.
Good: Prevents legitimate main eventers from eating a loss
This may be the real reason behind booking this match.By now, I think everyone understands that the only reason Jinder Mahal is getting an extended run with the WWE Championship is that the company wants to court the Indian market.
In the long run, however, it's hard to imagine him as a sustained fixture in the main event scene.
Therefore, it wouldn't hurt the WWE as much in the long haul if he eats a pin for Brock Lesnar as it might if the likes of Finn Balor, Seth Rollins or Bray Wyatt do.
It didn't stop them from throwing Braun Strowman and Samoa Joe under the bus, but by now, the WWE should have realized just how difficult it is to build them back up again after a lacklustre loss to Brock Lesnar.
And the unfortunate part is that unless you're called Roman Reigns, you can't really have a strong showing against him either.
