5 AEW Superstars you might not know once worked for WWE
All Elite Wrestling has become WWE's biggest competition in recent months, ever since the promotion marked their debut back at Double or Nothing with the shock appearance of Jon Moxley.
Of course, Moxley made quite the career for himself in WWE as Dean Ambrose and only officially parted ways with the company a few weeks before, which is why it came as such a shock that he made his way to AEW rather than returning to WWE.
Jon Moxley and Chris Jericho are the two best known former WWE superstars who are part of the promotion and have been spearheading the company ahead of their move to the TNT Network in the coming months.
Even though Jericho, Cody Rhodes, Shawn Spears, Neville, and Moxley are the best-known stars, several Superstars once worked for WWE and made at least a TV cameo appearance without the WWE Universe feeling their presence. Here are just a few current AEW stars who the WWE Universe didn't know once worked for WWE.
#5 Luchasaurus
Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy have captured the hearts of the AEW faithful over the past few months, but what isn't well know about the 6ft star is that he was once under contract with WWE.
Known as Judas Devlin, he was signed to NXT back in 2012 when WWE was just transitioning from FCW to NXT. Devlin made a number of appearances for the brand throughout 2012 alongside the likes of Corey Graves and CJ Parker. Like many stars who have been signed to NXT over the years, he was released from the company back in 2014 following a severe hip injury.
He later moved over to Lucha Underground where he stayed until 2018 when his character was killed off by Taya Valkyrie. The following year it was announced that he had officially signed a contract with AEW to perform under his Luchasaurus persona.
