5 alternative WrestleMania 35 main events to Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair
The WrestleMania main event isn’t usually confirmed by WWE until a few weeks before the show, but rumours about the headline match often begin almost a year in advance.
The final match on the card at WrestleMania 34, Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns, was first rumoured 12 months before it happened, and there have been plenty of early suggestions that Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair could go on last at WrestleMania 35.
Now, as great as that rivalry would undoubtedly be, WWE has lots of other options available to them if they opt to headline with a different match at next year’s show in New Jersey.
In this article, we take a look at five alternative main events to Ronda vs. Charlotte.
#5 Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose
Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose are three of the most influential WWE Superstars of their era and it feels inevitable that the Shield members will main-event WrestleMania together one day.
The only previous televised Triple Threat match between the trio in WWE came at Battleground 2016, where Ambrose retained his WWE Championship by pinning Reigns, and annual rumours of an all-Shield match at WrestleMania have so far proven to be wide of the mark.
Given the overwhelmingly negative reactions that Reigns’ headline matches received at WrestleMania 32 (vs. Triple H) and WrestleMania 34 (vs. Brock Lesnar), the only guaranteed way to cut out the boos in his next ‘Mania main event would be to have him share the ring with his fellow “Hounds of Justice”.
