5 Best options for John Cena’s final WWE WrestleMania match

John Cena is one of the greatest WWE Superstars in history. He first joined the Sports Entertainment juggernaut's main roster in 2002 when he debuted on Friday Night SmackDown. Over the next few decades, he created an incredible legacy for himself.

During Cena's time as an active competitor, he became a 16-time WWE World Champion. This ties the record of legendary Hall of Famer Ric Flair. As if that wasn't enough, The Face That Runs The Place went on to become a major star in Hollywood.

Unfortunately, Father Time comes for us all. Cena is 47. As a result, he has made the unfortunate decision to wrap up his pro wrestling career. The former WWE Champion intends to compete throughout next year during his Farewell Tour.

One major stop for Cena will be WrestleMania, where he'll presumably have his last-ever match at The Show of Shows. This article will take a look at five of the best options for his opponent at the biggest show of the year.

Below are the five best options for John Cena's final WrestleMania match:

#5. Jacob Fatu could beat Cena and get elevated to the next level

Jacob Fatu is one of the most athletic big men in pro wrestling. The Samoan Werewolf is a former MLW World Champion. He joined WWE earlier this year. He has since aligned himself with The Bloodline.

The Samoan Werewolf just had a major match at WWE Bad Blood. He teamed up with Solo Sikoa to take on Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes. In the end, Roman and Cody stood tall, but Fatu remains a man primed to become a top star.

If the Triple H-led creative team intends to elevate Fatu to the next level, he should not only wrestle but defeat Cena at The Franchise Player's last-ever WrestleMania. If he destroys John and nails multiple Moonsaults, Fatu will forever be established as a big deal and a made man.

#4. Randy Orton and John Cena have a tremendous amount of history

Randy Orton is an all-time great. He is a 14-time WWE World Champion who is rapidly approaching the record John Cena shares with Hall of Famer Ric Flair. He also competes actively, which means there is a chance he could match or even break the record.

The Viper is currently part of a major storyline on WWE Friday Night SmackDown. Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes had a lot of tension, and Randy attempted to fix things. This ultimately backfired, as Owens shockingly assaulted Orton on the blue brand's latest episode.

Orton could be a fantastic choice for John Cena's opponent at WrestleMania 41. The two came up together through Ohio Valley Wrestling and joined the main roster in 2002. They went on to have an iconic rivalry that fans still talk about today. The two longtime on-screen foes clashing one last time at WrestleMania would be great.

#3. WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle has been in the conversation

Kurt Angle is yet another all-time great to be mentioned in this article. He has been a multi-time world champion in WWE, Japan, and TNA Wrestling. As if that wasn't enough, the former WrestleMania headliner is also an Olympic gold medalist.

In a recent interview, Kurt Angle was asked about whether he'd come back for one last match against John Cena. While his health may prevent it, Angle expressed interest in the bout, and fans have been talking about it non-stop.

Not only would this be great given their history in WWE, especially since Cena's first television match was with Kurt, but it'd be a positive for another reason too. Angle's last match was a disappointing and lackluster bout with Baron Corbin. This would give Angle a high profile and proper bout to end his career with.

#2. Bron Breakker could hit new highs

Bron Breakker is the future of WWE. The 26-year-old is the son of Rick Steiner and the nephew of Scott Steiner. Additionally, he's a two-time NXT Champion and a former Intercontinental Champion.

The talented performer has a big opportunity coming up on WWE Monday Night RAW. After losing the prized Intercontinental Championship to Jey Uso last month, Bron has a chance to win the gold back, which would help elevate him yet again.

Still, what could elevate him even more and further the momentum he's building is a match with John Cena at WrestleMania. As good as feuds with Jey Uso and Sami Zayn are, a storyline and major match with Cena would help Breakker reach new heights. Win or lose, this would be huge for Bron.

#1. John Cena winning the World Heavyweight Title from Gunther would be amazing

Gunther is the World Heavyweight Champion on WWE Monday Night RAW. This is his third title in the promotion after the United Kingdom Championship and the Intercontinental Title, both of which he had record title reigns with.

The Ring General has a major match ahead of him. Gunther will be clashing with Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel. The winner of the bout in Saudi Arabia will be declared the men's Crown Jewel Champion, which is effectively the top world champion in the company.

Given that Cena is a 16-time world champion and tied with Ric Flair, just one more reign would make him number one in the list. Cena challenging Gunther for the World Heavyweight Title and winning it at WrestleMania would be an epic moment and one that would truly be history making.
