5 Best potential SmackDown feuds after the Superstar Shake-up
It has been nearly two weeks since the “Superstar Shake-up” on Smackdown. A lot of fans were upset to see stars that raised their game on the blue brand like Bray Wyatt, The Miz and Alexa Bliss leave the Smackdown show during the Shake-up.
However, the blue brand clearly got some big stars in return. The addition of Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn and Charlotte added a lot of in-ring value to an already strong wrestling-oriented show on Tuesday nights. It truly is the night for wrestling going forward.
I am excited for the possibilities on the blue brand and now that we have had some real time to process the results of the Shake-up. We can clearly examine some of the best possible match-ups in each title divisions going forward on Tuesday nights.
SmackDown can be home to some intriguing possibilities going forward, and with that said, I present my list of the top five best potential Smackdown feuds after the Superstar Shake-up:
#5 Kevin Owens vs. Randy Orton
I know that a lot of fans were not shocked to see a new Smackdown Superstar quickly become the number one contender for the WWE title. But I bet a lot of those same fans were shocked to see that the superstar was Jinder Mahal.
The much better option of a heel who is already over with the crowd and would seem a credible threat for the WWE title already existed. His name is Kevin Owens.
Owens should be in the main event on Smackdown as soon as possible. He has proven his ability to carry a major title with his good work with the Universal Championship and recently with the United States Championship.
The two have rarely faced off in their careers. Other than two tag matches and one singles match on a Raw in 2015, the two have never had a sustained feud. Randy Orton has proved himself to be quite capable in the ring if he is properly motivated. A fresh match-up with a fresh heel might just prove the proper motivation.
