5 Biggest things Vince McMahon made perfectly clear on Monday Night Raw
Judging by the reception WrestleMania 35 received, wrestling fans all around the world expected WWE to transport the same momentum to Monday Night Raw.
The Raw after WrestleMania is widely acknowledged as a big deal in the wrestling industry. The company throws the spotlight on new faces, makes way for some solid in-ring returns, and ignites some classic rivalries along the way.
Since WrestleMania 35 was so impressively executed, legions in the WWE Universe were anticipating something equally astounding to keep them hooked at the edge of our seats.
Unfortunately, the creative team failed to carry forward the same momentum and a show that looked so good on paper felt really flat by the time we came towards the end of it.
Seth Rollins' locked horns with Kofi Kingston in a 'Winner takes All' match in the main event before The Bar shockingly disrupted the proceedings; coercing the World Champions to engage in a tag-team tandem.
The Undertaker and Sami Zayn returned to the squared circle with the latter displaying his prowess as a compelling heel. The Phenom's return became a subject of debate on social media, with many vehemently criticizing his confrontation with Elias.
Significant spotlight was thrown on Becky Lynch who was quickly interrupted by Lacey Evans before they brawled their way down to the stage of Monday Night Raw.
Regardless of the anticipation that we all had, why did Vince McMahon book a Monday Night Raw that was devoid of Roman Reigns, Ronda Rousey, Braun Strowman, Brock Lesnar, and Charlotte Flair? Was it a planned move?
Here are some of the things he made perfectly clear tonight.
#1 He does not intend to unify The Universal and WWE Championship
I was literally pumped when Seth Rollins agreed to tussle it out with Kofi Kingston in a 'Winner Takes All' match in the main event of Monday Night Raw.
With Fox Sports taking control over the blue brand in 2019, there was a genuine feeling among the audience that Vince McMahon may very well be ending the brand extension with this decision.
Furthermore, Becky Lynch's victory on Sunday also ignited speculations of the company possibly unifying the titles on both brands.
Whilst the advertised main event began with a lot of promise but eventually ended in disappointing fashion with Sheamus and Cesaro's confusing interruption concluding the slug-fest in disqualification.
Judging by the way the match was so confusingly disrupted, it genuinely feels that Vince McMahon certainly has no intention of unifying the Universal and the WWE Championships.
