6 Current/Former WWE superstars you didn't know were relatedÂ
Over the years, several famous family members have been able to make it to WWE together, with the likes of Nikki and Brie Bella, Matt and Jeff Hardy, and Jimmy and Jey Uso all becoming successful tag teams by using their obvious connections as siblings.
They aren't the only family members who have been part of the company. Bret Hart and Natalya, Ric and Charlotte Flair, and even Bob and Randy Orton have proved that in-ring skills can be transferred to the next generation.
Wrestling can sometimes be a lonely business since it's a solo career, but there are some stars who have been able to find a way to make it to WWE with their family members, meaning that they will always have someone by their side throughout their lengthy travels.
#6 WWE star Cody Rhodes and Shockmaster
Cody Rhodes, who returned to WWE earlier this year, is now a completely different wrestler from the one that left the company in 2016. The American Nightmare has grown leaps and bounds on the mic. Along with being one of the biggest merchandise movers, he also gave the main roster its first 5-star match since Punk v/s Cena at MITB 2011. Given his dedication to fight Seth Rollins inside Hell in a Cell with a torn pectoral muscle, it won't be long before the former AEW Executive Vice President wins a world title in WWE.
Many may not know that Cody Rhodes is related to Fred Ottman, better known to wrestling fans as Shockmaster. The now-retired wrestler is known for making one of the worst possible debuts in wrestling history, having tripped in hilarious fashion while making his entrance for WCW.
Fred was related to Dusty Rhodes through marriage, being the brother-in-law of The American Dream. This makes Shockmaster Cody Rhodes' uncle.
#5 Naomi and Tamina
Like Rhodes and Shockmaster, Naomi and Tamina aren't related by blood either. Instead, the two Superstars are related by marriage, as Naomi is married to Jimmy Uso. The former SmackDown Women's Champion married Uso back in 2014 and in doing so became part of the famous Anoa'i family, which also includes Tamina.
Tamina's father also married into the Anoa'i family when he married Sharon back in 1964. This in turn made Tamina a member of the family and a cousin to The Usos, who she made her WWE debut alongside back in 2010.
This means that Tamina and Naomi are now distant relatives, but they are related. Both women are also related to Nia Jax, who is the cousin of The Rock, who in turn is The Usos' cousin. The Anoa'i family includes the likes of Roman Reigns, The Usos, The Rock, Rikishi, Yokozuna and Umaga, and continues to grow in the wrestling world on a regular basis.
#4 Robbie and Xia Brookside
Robbie Brookside has been seen as one of the best trainers at WWE's Performance Center for a number of years. Brookside had a lengthy career of his own which included wrestling all over the world before he retired back in 2013 and decided to concentrate on training the next generation.
Brookside's daughter Xia is just 21 years old but has already been part of the business for almost five years. Much like Charlotte Flair and Tamina, Xia decided to follow in her father's footsteps and enter the wrestling business.
Xia has made a name for herself all over Europe and was able to turn WWE's head back in 2018 when she took part in the Mae Young Classic. Despite losing to Io Shirai in the first round, it appears that Xia made enough of an impression that she was signed to the company and placed on the NXT UK roster. Xia hasn't become as well known as her father just yet, but there's no reason why she can't reach the heights of Charlotte Flair in the future.
#3 Mika Rotunda and Bray Wyatt
The Fiend Bray Wyatt is perhaps the most famous case of WWE mishandling one of their biggest assets. It's pretty well known that the man behind the mask comes from the famous Rotunda wrestling family, which also includes Wyatt's brother Bo Dallas and his father IRS or Mike Rotunda.
It's quite well-known that the male members of the family are related, but what isn't known is the fact that their sister Mika also used to work for WWE as a production assistant.
Mika was once rumored to be the woman that could be Sister Abigail and could then become an on-screen character, but it appears that even though the company did hire Mika, she was instead working as part of the company's backstage production team alongside her brothers and her father.
#2 John Laurinaitis and Daniel Bryan
Daniel Bryan's relationship with Brie Bella has become public knowledge throughout the couple's time on both Total Divas and Total Bellas. As part of the first season of Total Bellas, it was also revealed that backstage producer, former pro wrestler, and former RAW General Manager John Laurinaitis was in a relationship with Brie Bella's mother Kathy.
Laurinaitis married Kathy Colace as part of the show back in 2016 and in turn became the step-dad to Nikki and Brie Bella. Since Brie married Daniel Bryan back in 2014, it means that the man formerly known as Johnny Ace will also become Bryan's father-in-law on his wife's side.
#1 Humberto Carrillo and Angel Garza
Humberto Carrillo hasn't had to enter WWE on his own since his cousin Angel Garza had also joined the promotion, initially making a name for himself in NXT. Garza is a former NXT Cruiserweight Champion, and only lost the championship at World's Collide 2020.
Both Carrillo and Garza are from a family of professional wrestlers since their grandfather Mike Segura, also known as "El Ninja," was known all over the world. Their uncles and cousins are also professional wrestlers and interestingly both stars are also named Humberto, which is their grandfather's real name.
WWE even paired up the cousins as Los Lotharios, with the tag team currently assigned to SmackDown. While Humberto always had the in-ring skills, being a part of Los Lotharios has allowed him to gain some personality as well.
