5 current WWE Superstars who were almost fired
We’ve seen plenty of WWE storylines over the years where somebody has almost been fired as part of a match stipulation, with the most recent example being Clash of Champions 2017 when Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn’s careers were on the line.
However, did you know that, in reality, there have also been multiple occasions where current WWE performers were almost released by the company?
In this article, we select five Superstars and look at how close they were to being added to the dreaded “future endeavoured” list by WWE.
#5 Zack Ryder
Zack Ryder has had more major ups and major downs than most WWE Superstars during his 10 years with the company.
The former Hype Bro has won the United States, Intercontinental and Tag Team titles in WWE, but he has also had periods during his career when he’s become a serial loser or, even worse, not featured on television for multiple months at a time.
He revealed in a SmackDown Live fallout video in January 2018 that he was once told that he was on a list to be “future endeavoured” and thought he was going to lose his dream job in WWE.
Ryder added: “I’ve been afraid to pick up the phone because I thought I’d be next. I’m still here, I don’t know why except I don’t give up. I don’t quit, I just try to better myself each and every day.”
