5 directionless WWE Superstars who need to join a faction (and which one they should join)
The WWE juggernaut is well and truly rolling after following up a blockbuster WrestleMania 39 with an unforgettable Backlash in Puerto Rico. Business is booming, and stars like Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, and Rhea Ripley are more popular than ever.
Even lower down the card, new stars are being made left and right with the likes of Gunther and LA Knight winning fans by the millions. However, there are a few stars who have been left behind.
Stars like Dana Brooke and Aliyah have almost disappeared from television, with the former even inspiring the fan-driven hashtag #GiveDanaBrookeAChance. Many more including Lacey Evans, Xia Li, Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander lie in the shadows, and the company faces a battle to return them to prominence.
For a select few, though, career salvation could be as easy as joining a faction.
Let's list 5 of these directionless WWE Superstars who would benefit from joining a stable, and which stable they should join
#6&5: Humberto and Angel have real-life ties to the LWO
Humberto Carrilo and Angel Garza are two of WWE's least-utilized talents. The duo, who together make up the tag team Los Lotharios, have featured inconsistently on RAW and SmackDown over the past few years. After a promising start with their lady-charming gimmick, they faded into the background, joining other forgotten teams like Benjamin and Alexander in creative limbo.
The forgotten duo, though, might have a path back to regular television due to real-life ties with a recently-revived faction. The late Hector Garza, one of the three original members of LWO alongside Eddie Guerrero and Damian, was Humberto and Angel's uncle. They could be welcome additions to the stable, especially if it turns heel down the road.
The two entities were drafted to different brands, but WWE has often found ways around that separation before. Los Lotharios could even form a RAW branch or warring version of the faction!
#4: Tommaso Ciampa joining The Way was teased on WWE RAW
This past Monday, beloved Johnny Gargano-led former NXT faction The Way reunited on WWE RAW. The stable was completed (minus Austin Theory, of course) with the call-up of its last remaining member, Indi Hartwell, from NXT. As they interacted with Sonya Deville and Chelsea Green backstage, Gargano uttered a cryptic sentence, saying "he's coming back soon".
Fans are convinced that he was teasing the return of another of his former partners, DIY's Tommaso Ciampa. The Blackheart has been out since September 2022 due to injury, and is expected back soon. Upon returning, the two teams could merge into a hybrid faction, allowing Gargano to have both the seriousness of DIY and comedic assets of The Way behind him.
Done right, this could do wonders for the returning Ciampa, leading to a push such as the one being received by Finn Balor through The Judgment Day.
#3: Baron Corbin could find a career resurgence with The Judgment Day
Speaking of The Judgment Day, Finn Balor recently stated that the heel faction was possibly looking to expand. Fans immediately started speculating about who would join the group, with JD McDonagh's name coming up often. One man who may have even more to gain from that spot could be the dependable but perenially under-appreciated Baron Corbin.
The former Mr. Money In The Bank was one of the most fearsome heels in NXT history and later on the main roster as The Lone Wolf. He transitioned to Constable and Happy Corbin, but none of his other gimmicks have resonated with fans like The Lone Wolf. The WWE Universe has recently called for him to revert to the gimmick and join The Judgment Day, which it fits perfectly with.
All we can say is, we are intrigued by the idea even though Corbin and The Judgment Day are on different brands. Make it happen, Triple H!
#2: Tozawa joining the Alpha Academy could be a stroke of genius!
This one is very simple and straightforward. Since the WWE 24/7 title was scrapped, Tozawa has been floating around Main Event and backstage segments on RAW. Both Tozawa and Alpha Academy are among the funniest acts on the entire roster and both entities could use more numbers in their quest to gain recognition for their underrated abilities.
Why not put them together and push them collectively, giving them competitive feuds against the likes of Imperium and Judgment Day? It could do a world of good for all three men!
#1: Tamina could finally take her place in The Bloodline
The Bloodline is arguably the most dominant faction in WWE today. Roman Reigns is approaching 1000 days as world champion while Solo Sikoa has suffered only one clean loss in nine months on the main roster. Additionally, The Usos are just coming off a WrestleMania main event and a 600+ day tag team reign.
Conversely, Tamina, who is also their flesh and blood, languishes in creative limbo despite being one of the strongest women on the roster. The nine-time 24/7 champion seems to have taken her place as a veteran helping to elevate young talent, just like Natalya, AJ Styles and others. However, should the company wish to build her up as a force again, joining The Bloodline would instantly elevate her.
Besides, wouldn't it be interesting to see how Reigns would handle the one member he couldn't coerce into doing his bidding with physical violence?
