5 Directions for Drew McIntyre following WWE suspension - CM Punk home invasion, surprise TNA appearance & more
Drew McIntyre was on the top of the world last night at WWE Money in the Bank 2024, but it all came crashing down. The Scottish Warrior kicked off the premium live event by winning the Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match to secure himself a future title shot.
McIntyre held true to his word and attempted to cash in his Money in the Bank contract during the World Heavyweight Championship match between Damian Priest and Seth Rollins. However, CM Punk showed up and cost McIntyre his opportunity to cash in.
McIntyre became irate after the show and shoved RAW GM Adam Pearce. The RAW General Manager announced earlier today that McIntyre has been suspended indefinitely, and Punk has been fined.
Listed below are five directions for Drew McIntyre following his WWE suspension.
#5. Drew McIntyre could make life a nightmare for Adam Pearce on WWE RAW
The power struggle between authority figures and talent in wrestling is a tale that has been told many times before. Bron Breakker was suspended by Adam Pearce earlier this year, but the former NXT Champion never stopped his brutal attacks. Breakker sent Ricochet home in an ambulance last month and challenged for the Intercontinental Championship last night at WWE Money in the Bank.
Drew McIntyre could show up on tomorrow night's episode of WWE RAW despite his suspension and attack whoever gets in his way. Pearce would likely have to hire more security for RAW in the weeks ahead to try and prevent McIntyre from taking out his frustration on the locker room.
#4. Drew McIntyre could show up in TNA
WWE and TNA have been working together in recent weeks, and it could lead to Drew McIntyre making a surprise appearance. Instead of trying to show up on RAW or SmackDown, McIntyre could turn up on an upcoming episode of Impact to air his grievances against WWE and CM Punk.
McIntyre recently praised popular TNA star Joe Hendry and noted that he has deserved a massive opportunity for a long time. The Scottish Warrior could go after Hendry as a way to get more heat on himself while serving his suspension.
#3. Drew McIntyre could demand accountability from Triple H
Triple H is currently serving as WWE's Chief Content Officer and has a lot on his plate. Drew McIntyre could demand a meeting with Triple H and force his hand in issuing a suspension to CM Punk.
McIntyre could argue that Punk has cost him several opportunities and shouldn't be allowed in the building until he is medically cleared to compete. This may force The Game to take action against CM Punk, resulting in the rivalry getting even more personal.
#2. He could figure out a way to get traded to WWE SmackDown
Drew McIntyre showed up on the June 21, 2024 edition of WWE SmackDown after pretending to quit the company on RAW. He brutally attacked CM Punk in front of his hometown crowd in Chicago, and the Second City Saint was taken out of the arena in an ambulance. McIntyre also got into a brief shoving match with SmackDown GM Nick Aldis following the attack.
Nick Aldis has not been shy about standing up for what he believes in since he was appointed the SmackDown GM last October. Despite the suspension, Aldis may feel compelled to work out a trade for the 39-year-old with RAW GM Adam Pearce in an effort to bolster the roster on SmackDown.
#1. The former World Heavyweight Champion could invade CM Punk's house
CM Punk tore his triceps in the Men's Royal Rumble match in January and still has not returned to the ring. Drew McIntyre has taken credit for injuring the former AEW star, and their rivalry has become extremely personal over the past few months. McIntyre is in possession of a bracelet with Punk's wife (former WWE Superstar AJ Lee) and his dog Larry's name on it. He stole the bracelet during the heinous attack on Punk last month.
The rivalry could be taken to another level entirely if McIntyre decides to show up at Punk's house. LA Knight has recently shown up at AJ Styles and Logan Paul's houses on SmackDown, and McIntyre could take a page out of The Megastar's book. While McIntyre is suspended from the shows, there's not much anyone can do if he decides to invade Punk's home in the weeks ahead.
