5 epic returns other than Roman Reigns which could rock WWE SummerSlam 2024

WWE SummerSlam 2024 is less than a month away, and anticipation for the event is already sky-high. Thanks to the King and Queen of the Ring Tournaments, two world title matches are already set with Gunther and Nia Jax challenging Damian Priest and Bayley respectively. Cody Rhodes and Liv Morgan's directions are nearly locked in, too, with Solo Sikoa and Rhea Ripley targeting them.

Elsewhere, LA Knight and Bron Breakker are also expected to challenge for gold to make for an extremely strong card. While Drew McIntyre vs. CM Punk is arguably the most anticipated match, Roman Reigns' potential return may be even more awaited. The Tribal Chief's possible earth-shattering comeback may not be the only one to rock Cleveland Browns stadium to its foundation, though.

Here are five potential WWE SummerSlam 2024 returns other than Roman Reigns which could thrill the Cleveland crowd

#5. Raquel Rodriguez could return to add a new layer to the Liv Morgan-Rhea Ripley rivalry

Rhea Ripley returned from injury on the post-Money in the Bank 2024 episode of WWE RAW to confront Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio. The Eradicator received a massive reaction from the Ottawa crowd but was unable to get her hands on the Women's World Champion. The road to SummerSlam for Morgan, Ripley, Dominik, and The Judgment Day promises to bring the sparks.

At the Cleveland Browns stadium, Triple H and Co. might pull another rabbit out of their hat with the epic return of Raquel Rodriguez. Big Mami Cool has always shared a deep history with both women and could be the key to extending their feud into a long-term one. She could, for example, bridge the obvious size gap between Morgan and Ripley by returning as the former's bodyguard.

Such a Shawn Michaels-Diesel dynamic would play marvelously into the current heel-face dynamics in the rivalry and ease Rodriguez back into the fold after a long absence due to illness.

#4 & #3. Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair could begin new chapters in WWE with massive SummerSlam returns

The WWE's women's division is currently so deep that even without Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair, arguably its two biggest stars of all time, it is thriving. The Queen has been out for almost nine months after tearing her ACL, MCL, and meniscus, while The Man is on a personal hiatus after serving as the backbone of the division for almost a decade.

No return date has been set for either megastar, but given SummerSlam's long history of epic returns, they could show up as surprises. Lynch memorably returned from maternity leave at the 2021 edition to defeat Bianca Belair in 26 seconds. Could lightning strike twice for The Man in Cleveland? Could The Queen emulate that magic? Could they return as a tag team?

Any combination of the duo making a comeback at The Biggest Party of The Summer would receive a massive reaction

#2. Bobby Lashley could return from injury at WWE SummerSlam 2024

Bobby Lashley has had a rollercoaster past two years in WWE. After emerging from the pandemic era as one of the standout performers, Lashley became a pillar in the United States Title scene. His battles with Austin Theory and Seth Rollins worked wonders for the championship, but since leaving that scene, the All Mighty has been somewhat lost and unlucky.

After an incomplete feud with Bray Wyatt that ended suddenly, the two-time world champion has been rebuilding his momentum with The Pride. He unfortunately suffered a legitimate injury right before the King Of The Ring Tournament which was rumored not to be serious. Could Lashley return at SummerSlam, setting his sights on a top champion, perhaps?

#1. Could The Rock upstage Roman Reigns' potential WWE SummerSlam return?

The Rock hasn't been seen in WWE since RAW after WrestleMania XL when he promised Cody Rhodes that they would meet again down the road. The Final Boss has since been busy with Hollywood projects while The American Nightmare has fought off a growing list of challengers. The Undisputed WWE Champion is currently embroiled in a heated feud with Solo Sikoa, which will culminate at SummerSlam.

Although Sikoa is challenging Rhodes and calling out Roman Reigns, fans have long suspected that his actions are fueled by The Great One's backing. This is thought to be leading up to a Bloodline Civil War angle with The original Tribal Chief and Brahma Bull leading the opposing factions. What if the 10-time world champion returns instead of, or as well as the former Shield powerhouse?

A one-off appearance from the first-ever third-generation superstar could add multiple layers to the storyline and fuel it for months.
