5 Heel and face turns that could go down at WWE Saturday Night's Main EventĀ

WWE Saturday Night's Main Event will mark the first of many similar future events to come throughout the calendar year. Another event is already booked for mid-January, but this first such show will set the tone for RAW's move to Netflix.

With such a big move on the horizon, every match is more important than usual. Had the title matches been random pairings instead of extensions of ongoing feuds, the event's impact wouldn't be as big.

Gunther will defend his title against Finn Balor, while Liv Morgan will try to overcome a hard-charging IYO SKY. Cody Rhodes will also face Kevin Owens. The next five heel and face turns could go down at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event.

#5. The Street Profits should have turned heel

Instead of turning Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins into villains, bookers chose to do so with DIY on the latest episode of SmackDown. Johnny Gargano outsmarted his mentor, Alex Shelley, to regain the WWE Tag Team titles.

The Street Profits were supposed to have the match but were the latest victims in a wave of backstage attacks. They teased a heel turn when talking down to The Motor City Machine Guns, even though Tomasso Ciampa interfered.

A heel turn could refresh their characters since Ford and Dawkins have been together for so long without really changing. Shelley and Chris Sabin could get a rematch at Saturday Night's Main Event. The Profits attacking the face Champs could be the change they've needed for the last few years.

#4. Chelsea Green already gets cheers from the WWE Universe

When a performer is so good at their job that they get the opposite reaction, it means a change is in the air. Due to their attention to detail, performers like CM Punk, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and Chelsea Green will always get some cheers.

Owens, Zayn, and Punk excel in promos and can rationalize their actions when heels. How the commentators portray them dictates how WWE wants people to feel about a performer.

Green has been one of the MVPs this year due to her ability to do little things during matches. She routinely puts others over and makes them look great. Because of her work, she regularly gets cheered when wrestling.

She could undergo a face turn if she makes the finals of the Women's United States title tournament at Saturday Night's Main Event. If Piper Niven turns on her, it will be all the more effective.

#3. It could be Tiffy Time at Saturday Night's Main Event

Like Green, Tiffany Stratton is so outlandish that her character can still be cheered despite being a heel. Although Nia Jax has bullied her many times, the two remain allies.

If Jax finally turns on her, Stratton will become a beloved face immediately. Cashing in on either women's Champ would also automatically help that cause.

If someone lays Liv Morgan out before, during, or after her match with IYO SKY, Stratton could cash in at Saturday Night's Main Event. It's the perfect time for a change, and Stratton has proven that she can be the face of a division.

#2. Dominik Mysterio might be headed for a face turn

The Judgment Day could undergo even more changes as 2024 turns to 2025. The group already kicked Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest out but has splintered into two sides over the last few months.

Finn Balor leads JD McDonagh and Carlito, while Dominik Mysterio is more loyal to Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. The Prince has continued to brag about being the leader. He also blamed Dominik for not being able to beat Priest.

Fans cheered for Dirty Dom when he faced Gunther on RAW. Since Balor challenges The Ring General at Saturday Night's Main Event, Dominik could pay Balor back by costing him the match.

The fans would likely cheer that moment, but Gunther would still be a heel. Dom also talked to SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis after the "transfer portal" announcement.

#1. Randy Orton is a natural heel

Some stars are just better suited for certain roles. Randy Orton and Charlotte Flair are natural heels due to their lineage, gifts, and pushes. Orton's unhinged nature is better as a villain, while Flair's arrogance and perceived superiority fit a heel persona better.

The Viper has been involved in the drama between Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens, and Roman Reigns. Owens piledrived The Viper a few weeks back as no one considered his feelings about the matter.

Orton could re-emerge since Owens is set to face The American Nightmare at Saturday Night's Main Event. He could back up Rhodes or turn on his friend since his career had almost ended.

Everyone was okay with Rhodes teaming with Reigns, but it could have inadvertently ended Orton's career. An RKO out of nowhere on Rhodes would signal a return to his villainous persona.
