WWE Fastlane 2019 : 5 matches thatĀ could steal the show

Fastlane looks like a good show.
Fastlane looks like a good show.

We are almost at the final pay-per-view on the long and winding road to WrestleMania, it is less than a week away. Fastlane has generally been a hindrance to storytelling in previous years, slowing down the build to the Grandest Stage of Them All. However, this year has seen a vast improvement in the booking of this event. WWE has been much more enjoyable since the turn of the year when the McMahon family decided to shake things up.

These improvements are reflecting on weekly programming and pay-per-views, as WWE put out two enjoyable shows so far this year. Royal Rumble, while long, was a really stacked show and Elimination Chamber was generally positive. The momentum should continue heading into Fastlane. As of after the final Raw and Smackdown before the show, there are seven matches on the main card and one, rather unpopularly, booked on the Kickoff Show.

There are a few matches that could really steal the show, with the potential of a couple of moments that will shape WrestleMania up nicely. Get ready for another positive pay-per-view in WWE's collection this year, as here are five matches that should elevate Fastlane 2019 into one of the better shows in recent history.

#5 Rey Mysterio vs Andrade (Kickoff Match)

They should be on the main card.
They should be on the main card.

It is an absolute crime that this match is on the Kickoff Show. Andrade and Rey Mysterio had a proper build to this match, lasting for months. They had a pair of barnburners leading into the Royal Rumble, with Andrade getting the upper hand over Mysterio. Since then, they have been building to an eventual pay-per-view rematch, a hotly anticipated one. These two are just too good to be having matches before the pay-per-view even starts.

Andrade vs Mysterio could easily have a place on the Fastlane card, but perhaps WWE has done this to allot more time to other matches and to avoid going really long. Whatever the case is though, this match will be one of the best of the night without any shadow of a doubt. It could possibly be the greatest Kickoff match in WWE history, alongside the New Day vs the Usos at SummerSlam 2017. Just give them a spot at WrestleMania, please.
