Every year, as the Wrestlemania season begins, the wrestling community all around the world starts predicting the matches that would happen at the "Grandest Stage of Them All".

Given that WWE usually starts the build of its primary matches around the Royal Rumble, the predictions of the fans regularly turn into reality. However, untimely injuries or suspensions always cast doubt on one or more matches every year. Even WWE, being, well, WWE, manages to surprise its fans by booking matches completely outside of the box.

This year could be no different and as the Road to Wrestlemania begins at the Royal Rumble, we look at 5 matches that should happen at this year's spectacle, but most likely won't.

#1 Dean Ambrose vs Seth Rollins

Unfortunately, We'll have to wait a little more for these two to tear each other apart.

If there is one thing that WWE does every year, it is planting the seeds of the future feuds way early. Randy Orton vs Bray Wyatt, Seth Rollins vs Triple H and Chris Jericho vs Kevin Owens - all these matches were on the horizon very early, and WWE managed to keep the fans engaged in those storylines.

This time out, it was Seth Rollins' and Dean Ambrose's turn to go down the familiar path. The Shield reunion storyline over the summer should have eventually paved the way for the long overdue heel turn of the Lunatic Fringe and subsequently, a match between Ambrose and Rollins at Wrestlemania.

However, an untimely injury to the Lunatic Fringe means that fans will have to wait another year for the ultimate showdown between the Shield Brothers as Ambrose is not expected to return until the Summerslam, rendering the 6 month build-up totally worthless.
