5 matches we would love to see at WWE Clash of Champions

AJ Styles
Clash of Champions is the last WWE PPV of the year.

2017 was a strange year for the WWE. While RAW churned out one stupendous PPV after another, SmackDown struggled to produce decent events throughout the year. Barring the Hell in a Cell PPV, all the other SmackDown PPV's fell way short of expectations and left a lot to be desired. But the WWE still has one last opportunity to redeem itself. The blue brand exclusive, Clash of Champions, is around the corner and is a tremendous opportunity for the WWE to end 2017 with a bang.

An underwhelming main event has already been announced for the Clash of Champions PPV. But if we take a cue from how the past couple of PPV's panned out, Jinder Mahal Vs AJ Styles may end up getting scrapped at the last possible moment. Jinder Isn’t downright horrible by any means, but he does not deserve to be in the main event of a PPV. With so many insanely talented superstars like Sami Zayn, Dolph Ziggler, Rusev, Bobby Roode and Shinsuke Nakamura being criminally misused at the moment, the match cards of all the Smackdown PPV's could have been a lot better if these superstars were booked congruously.

So let’s forget the actual booking for one second and look at some of the matches that we would love to witness at Clash of Champions instead.

#1 The Usos vs The New Day

Enter
This was hands down the best rivalry of 2017.

Despite the constant struggle that the blue brand experienced this year, the tag team division of SmackSown was always the saving grace on each and every show. The heated rivalry between the New Day and the Usos might very well be the best thing to happen to SmackDown in a very long time. But sadly, since their epic battle at Hell in a Cell, both the teams seem to be moving on to different feuds.

Many supremely talented tag teams like Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin, The Bludgeon Brothers, The Ascension, and Breezango are sitting on the sidelines and deserve an opportunity to showcase their craft. But it would be interesting if Usos and The New Day could collide inside the squared circle just one more time at Clash of Champions.

The phenomenal rivalry between these astounding tag teams is something no member of the WWE Universe can ever get bored of. Thus, one last battle between them at WWE Clash of Champions will make the PPV an absolute must watch.
