5 Memorable Table Moments in WWE
With WWE TLC just around the corner, images of broken tables and death-defying superstars pop into the mind. Tables are a simple yet effective means of storytelling in a wrestling match and have been an integral part of many matches and feuds.
From Terry Funk piledriving the 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair through a table at WrestleWar in 1989 to the time freezing moments of the Hell in a Cell match between the Undertaker and Mankind, a good table spot never gets old in the world of pro wrestling and can turn the tides of a match in a single instant.
Plain tables, gimmicked tables, tables with crazy designs, the poor Spanish announcers' table, tables with barbed wire and tables set on fire, what's not been done yet!
And to remember all those golden table crashing moments, here are 5 memorable table spots (not in any order) in WWE!
5- Sabu DDTs Rey Mysterio through a table - One Night Stand 2006
Sabu's wrestling career is filled with extreme moments. Two of the most aerial superstars in wrestling history clashed at ECW One Night Stand in 2006.
The first event of rebranded ECW bore witness to a hardcore match between the biggest little man and the death-defying maniac, which included many memorable spots like a West Coast Pop Up from Mysterio on Sabu through a table.
But undoubtedly the most jaw-dropping sequence from the match was this DDT. Jumping off a chair onto the top rope, Sabu drove Mysterio head first through the table in a moment that had the audience frozen and genuinely concerned about Mysterio's health.
This was such a profound moment that the match ended in a no result, an outcome almost unheard of in the extreme third brand.
