5 Men who could face Kurt Angle in his final match
As we write this, Kurt Angle is slated to go into the WWE Hall of Fame at the age of 48. One of the youngest inductees into the Hall of Fame, Angle returns home after more than a decade. Unfortunately, it is unclear if he will be associated with the company as an in-ring performer or a possible general manager to replace Mick Foley.
With WWE’s strict guidelines with regard to in-ring performers, Angle’s body may not pass the muster when it comes to getting in the ring for a complete run. However, we’re certain that Angle can definitely wrestle one more match as a special attraction for the world's largest sports entertainment promotion.
If WWE had to judiciously pick an opponent for him, who would they shortlist? We look at 5 likely possibilities for the same.
#5 Brock Lesnar
As it stands now, we foresee Brock Lesnar defeating Goldberg at Wrestlemania and becoming the new Universal Champion. Dave Meltzer has speculated that Lesnar will eventually drop the title to Roman Reigns at the next Wrestlemania.
Until then, however, Lesnar needs a ‘believable’ challenger along the way. How about one of Lesnar’s classic opponents and a man with whom he has possibly the best chemistry ever- Kurt Angle?
An Angle-Lesnar feud is not just big money, it also makes sense. Fans will be far more invested in the feud as Angle can work well in the ring, and hence, the matches need not just be squash contests. A contest of this nature would also bring old fans back to watch the product one more time.
