5 awkward insults WWE Superstars endured on Drop the Mic
TBS' Drop the Mic is a rap battle show where celebrities roast one another using poetry and prose, over the top of a hip-hop beat. The studio audience cheers as Hollywood stars verbally tear one another apart in modern day gladiator games for the reality television era. No worries, however, as no one gets hurt - at least not physically. Feelings, on the other hand, are fair game and no one walked on eggshells during this epic rap battle.
The latest episode of the hip-hop themed show featured WWE Superstars; Carmella, Nikki Bella, Brie Bella, and Alicia Fox vs the cast of the hit Netflix series GLOW; Kate Nash, Britney Young, Sunita Mani, and Jackie Tohn. Also appearing on the show was former WWE Superstar Chris Jericho, who battled professional boxer, Layla Ali.
Not one WWE Superstar survived the rap battle, nor was anyone left unscathed as each Superstar barely endured one shocking verbal pipebomb after another. Although WWE Superstars are paid to take scripted shots at one another, their work experience did not pay off here, as each participant went home utterly defeated and quite obviously thoroughly embarrassed.
We break down the most pointed and awkward things said to our beloved WWE Superstars on Drop the Mic.
5. Kate Nash Annihilates Carmella and Alicia Fox
GLOW star and English singer-songwriter Kate Nash had the opportunity of a lifetime to hurl insults at both Alicia Fox and her rap battle teammate, Smackdown Women's Champion Carmella. Although both WWE Superstars were also television stars on the E! reality series Total Divas, we aren't sure if Nash knew who the two actually were.
In a blatant sign of disrespect Nash brought the following to the rap battle, "Tonight you spar against actual stars. We face the Bella Twins and whoever you two are. Before you tell me, I don't really care. I'm better than you both, so I guess I'm Charlotte Flair."
Nash then proceeded to gloat and thrust her crotch D-X style, ala Shawn Michaels and Triple H, as both Carmella and Alicia Fox stood visibly upset. The two WWE Superstars were largely silenced in defeat, a huge accomplishment in its own right, considering their gift for gab and often unparalleled ability to trash talk.
Somewhere four-time Women's Champion Charlotte Flair is strutting Ric Flair style or at the very least just happy to be recognized. Woooo!
