5 of the best WWE promos in recent times

For any successful feud to reach its natural conclusion, it needs to be decided on a PPV. But even that would not be possible unless there is a great promo to sell it. Over the years, we have seen some of the best promos you will ever see, from legends like Hulk Hogan, Macho Man, Jake Roberts to Steve Austin, Rock and Edge. While it would never be possible to name 5 of the best, considering there are so many good ones, here are a few of the best in recent times in the WWE.

Pipebomb

This was a very obvious choice, so let’s get it out of the way. This was what made CM Punk, this was what made CM Punk finally get over with the fans, which is a shame really, considering he’s a fantastic wrestler inside the ring.

The story goes that CM Punk was really frustrated with his position in the WWE and wanted to really leave. So it was decided that he would be given the mic and let him talk about how he really felt. It was a big success, even to the point where his mic was switched off while he was talking about the McMahon family.

CM Punk skyrocketed after this promo, and hasn’t looked back ever since, while the promo itself is looked at as one of the defining moments of the PG Era.
