5 opponents for Kurt Angle for his last TV match at Smackdown before Wrestlemania
Kurt Angle has been on a farewell tour after he announced his retirement at this year's Wrestlemania. He has been producing decent to quality matchups while on his journey to his last match at Wrestlemania.
Kurt Angle's announcement of his Wrestlemania opponent to be Baron Corbin was quite underwhelming. Considering his stature in the business, Corbin is a major step-down for his retirement match when there were rumors of him facing either of John Cena and the Undertaker. Fans are hopeful that somehow WWE swerves us all and replace Baron Corbin.
Leaving Corbin aside, Angle started his farewell tour with Apollo Crews giving him some relevant TV time and then on the successive week, he gave a dream match on free TV with Chad Gable. This week, Kurt invited Samoa Joe to RAW to fight him as part of the farewell tour and then went to Smackdown to fight AJ Styles.
Rey Mysterio is scheduled to face Kurt Angle next week on RAW, which is going to be his final match on RAW before his retirement.
Kurt might as well have a match at Smackdown before retirement. Here are some of the superstars that Kurt Angle might face on his last TV match at Smackdown before Wrestlemania.
#5 Shelton Benjamin
Shelton Benjamin was one of the first choices for Kurt Angle's opponent at Wrestlemania for his retirement match. Their history during the Team Angle period was supportive of that argument.
Benjamin has mainly been lost in the roster and has last appeared on RAW for a one-off match against Seth Rollins and has been off TV ever since.
It would be nice to rekindle their old alliance in a one-off match which happens to be Angle's last match on TV.
