5 positives from Brock Lesnar becoming the WWE Universal Champion at Extreme Rules
So, there we go again. Brock Lesnar is the WWE Universal Champion for the third time. He only just lost the title a few months ago at WrestleMania 35 and has now regained it after cashing in his Money in the Bank contract.
It is almost as the title was only created for Lesnar as a means to keep him tied with the company. Many are disgruntled by the fact that the Beast has been given the title back just months after losing it.
Personally, I am not a fan of this happening. After all, we all remember how he was absent for most of the time in recent years. As a result, it would be safe to claim that we might have lost a fighting champion (more on this later).
However, while the negatives are glaring and known to everyone, I will look at the positives for a change because being negative about something that has happened and will continue to happen feels like playing a broken record.
As a result, here are 5 positives from Lesnar winning the Universal Championship…
#5 Rollins was becoming stale
Seth Rollins made strong claim for himself prior to WrestleMania for the Universal Title. He kept the fans engaged with his promos and made them root for him to win the prestigious honor.
After winning the title, he continued being a strong act for a while but recently, he has lost a bit of the mojo that made him the Beast Slayer. After his short feud with AJ Styles, things became bland for the Architect and it was not entirely his fault because he had to work with Baron Corbin – and he is not really a very interest character to begin with.
On top of that, his pairing up with Becky Lynch watered him down even further. With both of them being a power couple with two biggest titles of their respective divisions, the storyline needed a change, and Rollins losing it after trying to look out for Lynch gives a number of potential angles surrounding the two.
