5 possible finishes for Gunther vs. Finn Balor vs. Damian Priest at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event
RAW GM Adam Pearce shook things up in the World Heavyweight Title match at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event where Gunther and Finn Balor were initially slated to meet each other. However, Damian Priest was added to the bout, making it a Triple Threat, after The Judgment Day interfered in the face-off between The Ring General and The Prince on Monday Night RAW.
The next five finishes are possible in the World Heavyweight Title Triple Threat bout at Saturday Night's Main Event.
#5. Damian Priest regains the title by pinning Balor
WWE can achieve many things with Damian Priest pinning Finn Balor at Saturday Night's Main Event. The first is that Priest wins back the title he has been cheated out of a few times.
The crowd support has only grown for The Archer of Infamy and a win would be cheered. Balor taking the pin would continue the ongoing rivalry with Priest while also protecting Gunther in defeat.
He's lost by pinfall twice in 2024, so he can't afford another loss via pin to maintain his dominant aura. A loss would also make The Ring General a favorite to win the 2025 Royal Rumble.
#4. The Judgment Day interferes like crazy to help Finn win
Being a Triple Threat contest means that outside interference is legal. The Judgment Day rarely wins cleanly and the faction stood tall after beating up both Gunther and Priest on RAW this past Monday.
If Balor is getting more of a focus in 2025, he could walk out of Saturday Night's Main Event as champion. It's been almost nine years since he won the Universal Championship. He's done everything bookers have asked of him.
He may be rewarded with a huge win over his two rivals. It would keep The Judgment Day together a bit longer if plans to break them up aren't on the cards for the immediate future.
#3. Gunther retains by pinning Balor at Saturday Night's Main Event
The finish that would keep the status quo on RAW would be Gunther retaining his title after pinning Finn Balor. Balor essentially earned the shot by interfering twice in Priest's efforts to regain the belt.
He felt entitled to a shot because of this and then resorted to attacking Gunther. To put this Triple Threat angle to bed, The Ring General could send Balor packing, possibly to SmackDown.
Priest and Gunther can then have one last showdown at either RAW's Netflix Premiere or the next Saturday Night's Main Event.
#2. Gunther pins Priest but isn't finished with The Judgment Day
Ending one rivalry may keep another going at Saturday Night's Main Event. Gunther could retain his title by pinning Damian Priest. Priest can then move to SmackDown to reboot his career with different feuds.
If this happens, Balor would argue he deserves another shot since he wasn't pinned. He'd get another shot in a one-on-one situation. The Judgment Day could attack him after the match to set up Gunther's final feud of 2024.
Depending on plans for WrestleMania 41, some big changes could be made to the World Heavyweight Title picture. Will Gunther definitively defeat two stars who have been thorns in his side as champion?
Will the doubt he's expressed continue and lead to a loss? A clean win from The Ring General could answer many questions.
#1. Dominik Mysterio costs Finn Balor
One side of the feud on the red brand has been Finn Balor bragging about how The Judgment Day is more successful when listening to him.
He chided Dominik Mysterio for being unable to beat Priest and Gunther. Dominik has to be tired of the treatment. With interference likely in the Triple Threat contest, it could come back to haunt The Prince if Dirty Dom turns on Balor.
Dominik could then eventually turn face. He was getting "Dirty Dom" chants when facing The Ring General on last week's RAW. Saturday Night's Main Event may be a seminal moment in Dominik Mysterio's career.
