5 Possible reasons why Becky Lynch lost at NXT Halloween Havoc

Becky Lynch dropped her title to Lyra Vaklyria in a thrilling contest at NXT Halloween Havoc. The pair put on an incredible match for the NXT Women’s Championship in front of a red-hot audience at the WWE Performance Center.

The Man had won the title from Tiffany Stratton. She successfully retained the championship against Natalya, Tegan Nox, and Indi Hartwell on Monday Night RAW.

Lynch also had an incredibly successful NXT Women’s Championship defense against Stratton at NXT No Mercy on September 30, 2023. The pair put on a match of the year contender in their Extreme Rules outing.

Let’s take a look at five possible reasons why Becky Lynch lost the title at NXT Halloween Havoc:

#5. Kick off feud with Xia Li on WWE RAW

Xia Li made her televised return to WWE in more than a year during a segment with Becky Lynch. She confronted Lynch during a backstage interview segment with Jackie Redmond on the October 9, 2023, episode of WWE RAW.

She was also seen stalking The Man on the red brand this past Monday.

It is possible Becky Lynch could kick off a feud with Xia Li in the wake of her NXT Women’s Championship loss at NXT Halloween Havoc.

Li originally wanted a title shot against Lynch, but a non-title program could be the start of Li’s much-anticipated push on the main roster.

#4. Return to the main roster in time for Survivor Series

This year’s Survivor Series is expected to see the collision of RAW and SmackDown.

WWE teased brand warfare during several noteworthy segments between Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis last Friday on the blue brand and this past Monday on the red band.

Hypothetically, Triple H would book Becky Lynch as captain of the RAW Women’s Survivor Series Team if Rhea Ripley defends the Women’s World Championship at the November 25th PLE.

#3. Join forces with Tegan Nox

Tegan Nox had a solid outing against Becky Lynch for the NXT Women’s Championship on the October 9 episode of RAW. Lynch had originally pitched to work with Tegan for the September 18 episode of the brand, but WWE had her replaced with Natalya as a token of appreciation for the BOAT’s performance at Superstar Spectacle in India.

In Lynch’s absence, Nattie has stepped up to guide Nox in her endeavors on the red brand. With that said, the WWE Universe isn’t fully convinced of the Queen of Harts’ intentions.

It is possible Natalya could turn heel on Tegan Nox, causing the latter to join forces with Becky Lynch. The pair can potentially challenge for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship as well.

#2. Becky Lynch vs. Rhea Ripley finally gets going

Becky Lynch and Rhea Ripley have only had one singles match thus far against each other, and that was on NXT five years ago. The pair have come a long way since, and fans are looking forward to how their next meeting will turn out.

WWE has been teasing a showdown between The Man and the Eradicator on RAW. Both have bumped into each other multiple times on the red brand during the past few weeks.

Lynch can finally focus on Ripley and her Women’s World Championship after her defeat at NXT Halloween Havoc.

#1. Jade Cargill’s first opponent

Jade Cargill joined WWE in September following a highly successful stint in Tony Khan’s AEW, where she was the first and longest-reigning TBS Champion. The 33-year-old star has appeared on RAW, SmackDown, and NXT since making her televised debut at Fastlane 2023.

Jade Cargill ran into Becky while The Man was still the NXT Women’s Champion. Their most recent staredown came at NXT Halloween Night 1. It seems fans might be getting Cargill versus Lynch in the near future.
