5 possible reasons why Damian Priest and Seth Rollins are the WWE Money in the Bank main event

Damian Priest will be defending his World Heavyweight Title against Seth Rollins tomorroe night at WWE Money in the Bank 2024. A recent report has suggested that the title match will be headlining tomorrow night's premium live event.

Seth Rollins returned from injury last month and confronted The Archer of Infamy. Two stipulations have been added to the World Heavyweight Championship match tomorrow night. If Rollins loses, he cannot challenge for the title again while Priest is champion. If Priest fails to retain the title, he will also be forced to leave The Judgment Day.

Listed below are 5 possible reasons Damian Priest and Seth Rollins are the main event of WWE Money in the Bank 2024:

#5. A major angle could close WWE Money in the Bank

Last year, Finn Balor was involved in a rivalry with Rollins but Damian Priest kept getting involved, even inadvertently causing a loss at WWE SummerSlam. Priest won last year's Men's Money in the Bank ladder match and held the briefcase until he finally cashed in on Drew McIntyre at WWE WrestleMania XL.

Finn Balor and Damian Priest had an argument on this past Monday's episode of RAW about the World Heavyweight Champion's claim that The Judgment Day needs him more than he needs them. Balor could decide to get involved in the main event and cost Priest to ensure that he is not welcome back in The Judgment Day.

The World Heavyweight Championship is the most important title on WWE RAW. Cody Rhodes will be competing in a 6-man tag team match against The Bloodline at Money in the Bank, and the promotion could want to close the show with a major title match.

Damian Priest's title defense against Drew McIntyre headlined Clash at the Castle last month in Scotland. WWE may want to continue to add prestige to the title introduced last year by having it headline Money in the Bank tomorrow night.

WWE could be planning on having a major title change take place tomorrow night at Money in the Bank. Seth Rollins lost the World Heavyweight Championship to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania XL, only for The Scottish Warrior to lose it five minutes later to Damian Priest after he successfully cashed in his Money in the Bank contract.

The Visionary missed a couple months of action due to a torn meniscus but will be returning to the ring tomorrow night. Money in the Bank could potentially go off the air with Rollins winning the title once again. Gunther could also show up at the end of the premium live event for a stare down with Rollins, as he is next in line for a shot at the title after winning the King of the Ring tournament earlier this year.

#2. Drew McIntyre could keep his promise and cash in at the end of the show

Drew McIntyre has vowed to win the Men's Money in the Bank ladder match tomorrow night. He qualified for the match by defeating Sheamus and Ilja Dragunov in a Triple Threat match in the main event of this past Monday's edition of WWE RAW.

During the Money in the Bank Kickoff Show earlier today, McIntyre claimed that he was going to cash in the Money in the Bank contract tomorrow night as well and leave as the World Heavyweight Champion. The veteran could hold true to his word tomorrow night and that could be why the World Heavyweight Championship match is rumored to be the main event.

#1. CM Punk or AJ Lee could show up to cost Drew McIntyre

CM Punk cost Drew McIntyre his chance to capture the title from Damian Priest last month at WWE Clash at the Castle. However, McIntyre got his revenge by brutally attacking CM Punk last month on SmackDown and stole a bracelet with AJ Lee's name on it. AJ Lee is a former Divas Champion who is married to CM Punk in real life.

AJ Lee could potentially make her triumphant return to the promotion during the closing moments of the show to prevent Drew McIntyre from successfully cashing in his Money in the Bank contract. It is also possible that enough time has passed that CM Punk has recovered enough from McIntyre's attack and he could interfere once again to prevent the 39-year-old from becoming champion.
