5 potential post-WrestleMania 34 NXT call-ups
Every year, the Raw and Smackdown Live after WrestleMania nearly always consist of a call-up from the developmental brand NXT. Last year, we saw call-ups such as The Revival, Tye Dillinger and Shinsuke Nakamara, among others. This adds an unpredictable atmosphere to the shows after WrestleMania; these shows are usually the most watched shows of the year for WWE. Due to the hot nature of NXT and how tremendous the brand's WWE Network specials are, the brand has gathered a great deal of momentum for itself. This usually carries over to the superstars first night on the main roster creating an electric atmosphere. We look at the main five potential call-ups from NXT following this year's WrestleMania.
5 - Authors Of Pain
The Authors of Pain, managed by WWE Hall Of Famer Paul Ellering, made their NXT debuts in June 2016 attacking American Alpha after their match at NXT Takeover: The End. Destroying every team that got in their way one by one, Authors Of Pain were quickly skyrocketing through the rankings of the NXT tag team division. They captured the NXT Tag Team Championships on their first attempt in November of the same year just five months after their debut by defeating DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa). They held the NXT Tag Team Championships for nine months before losing it to Sanity (Alexander Wolfe and Eric Young) in what marked Authors of Pain's first loss in NXT. Competing in The Wargames Match alongside Roderick Strong against Sanity and The Undisputed Era, there's not really much left for this team to do in NXT. After Wrestlemania would be the perfect time to call this team up to the repetitive Raw tag team division and give it the much needed shot of adrenaline it needs.
