5 Potential WrestleMania matches that Elimination Chamber has paved the way for
There was a lot to celebrate about last night as Elimination Chamber delivered in a big way; from Finn getting his first taste of gold since his injury to Becky and Kofi continuing their improbable runs, to Sasha and Bayley etching their rightful place in wrestling history as the first Women’s Tag Team Champions.
With Fastlane remaining as the only PPV standing before WrestleMania, storylines and potential matches on the card have started to take place. Last night we saw a lot of action an interesting subplots that point to what we can expect to see at the ‘Showcase of Immortals’.
Below we will take a look at five potential WrestleMania matches following the events of the Elimination Chamber.
#5 Shane McMahon vs. The Miz for the Best in the World Trophy
Team morale for The Best Tag Team in the World was sky high the last few weeks after winning the tag team championships in their first try. The two have been delivering promos that align with each other, and even dressing in close-enough attire.
This week we finally saw some cracks in the armor as they got beat by The Usos, even after Jimmy Uso was arrested earlier this week for allegedly trying to fight with police officers. If the Usos aren’t feeling the repercussions for their off-screen actions, then it’s clear that WWE creative needed Miz and Shane to break up immediately to set up their Mania program.
In the few matches that Miz and Shane had together, Miz would direct Shane to take many high flying and dangerous spots the last of which resulted in both Shane and Jimmy crashing through the announce table and out of action. It was with that jump, that Miz was left in a one-on-one scenario and got pinned to lose the tag team championships.
Creative can make either Shane or Miz turn heel on the other, but the storyline basis is going to be about these high flying acts and how Shane risks his body for Miz only for The Miz to let him down just as his father always said.
